We're still open for business and the shows will go on, as planned. But for those of you who are curious, here's what it looked like outside the ZOO today at about 5:30p. This is looking at P street and panning to O street from east 14th, directly in front of the bar.

We've been at this a long, long time and have worked w/1000's of presenters, venues and promoters. These folks are premium and they have been oh so loyal to us and our zydeco roots genre for decades; ...always keeping our artists on the grid and in front of the good people of Lincoln, NE. We feel very fortunate to have them as an important part of our music family. Love y'all! ;-) See More

Our band Cotton opened the Zoo Bar in Lincoln back in winter of 1974. Our group played Chicago blues and came via Monroe, La Miami, Grove,Oklahoma LincolnNE, Omaha,NE. The people of Nebraska loved hea...ring and supporting all us blues musicians that have followed us into that special room.
Much love and success to all at the Zoo and especially the fans of the music we all love.
Y'all be safe and ya never know when Cotton might sneak back into Lincoln. Love all y'all.
Geno trumpet and harp. Yo peeps

Have to say that it has been too long away from this place. It's just as I remember. Great group of people loving great music. Tonight was no different. James Armstrong was in the house.

We had such a great time! Amazing talent, great crowd, perfect hole in the wall gem of a bar. Only thing you need to know is go EARLY, like at least and hour before the show to get a spot!

Moved to Lincoln around January of 1974, worked at Cushman until I started my MFA program at UN-L that fall. I found the Zoo one night. I loved it then and it hasn't changed much if at all. A great pl...ace that has stood the test of time. I've been to a few good bars: Max's Kansas City, Finnegan's Wake, White's Pub in Oxford, Ship's Mast in Williamsburg, Malino's in NYC, Lucky's Elbow Room in Lancaster, they are all special in my heart and the Zoo is right there on top. Place is too small, too crowded, impossible to get around -- Basically fabulous. Never had such a good time. Smashed against the wall but wow! Fun, fun, fun. Great band (Indigenous) didn't hurt!

First I'd like to say this bar has a very respectable music history, great atmosphere, decient prices, & great staff. However if you decide to see a live act, & purchase a ticket on line understand absolutely DOES NOT reserve you ANYTHING! NOTHING, not a seat, table, even standing room. Understand that if you want a seat, you need to arrive several hours before the show. If you want to actually see the act, arrive at least an hour ahead, you're going to stand the entire time, however you may be close enough to actually be able to see the act. See More

I've been frequenting The Zoo off & on since its opening in 1973. In those days people went wild! We danced on the tables and it was jam packed. Some of the best music ever.

$8 21+ Music starting at 9:30pm

Adam had been playing the piano since he was just 10 years old. Kizzie's mom fondly recalls singing around the house with her daughter at just 3 years old. When in their mid-teens, music brought the two together as friends after meeting in the high school choir. They were nearly inseparable.

After the onset of adulthood, the two kids were led on separate journeys. Both were developing talents in creating their own musical compositions: Adam..., honing his spectacular gift in the art of rap; and Kizzie, developing her love of the written word.

Thirteen years later, their paths suddenly crossed again. And in the midst of rekindling an old friendship and a newfound shared love of music, an unexpected romance brewed and the two were later married.

Now Adam & Kizzie have found themselves in the best shape ever to move the world with his magic fingers and her melodic voice. Combining their unique songwriting skills, Adam & Kizzie have set out to share the gift of music in the best way their hearts know how. The eedo way.
