I had stupidly ordered an item online and in came in broken. I wasn't able to make it down to zoo creatures however I should have been patient and just purchased it from zoo creatures as the price en...ded up being less and it wasn't broken. They always have what I need. From equipment, food, and the animals they have are always cared for in a way that I wouldn't ever question if they are healthy. It takes us an hour and a half to get there. It is more than worth it. It is always a joy to go and have a look around. If you go make sure you have time because you are going to want to look at everything. Cheers Zoo Creatures keep it up! See More

I love Zoo Creatures.

I purchased a Catalina macaw and African grey from them a while back and they took amazing care of both the babies till the macaw was off soft food and able to eat regular food.... They took the time to answer my questions and educate me on things I didn't know. My fiance and I would go to the shop a couple times a week to bond with both birds and they had no problems with us spending time with our babies. Now that both of my babies are home and doing wonderful if I ever have a question or concern I just call them and they are more than happy to go out of their way and help. I respect the fact that they are really educated in what they do and I learned a lot from them. It takes time to build a relationship with any place that you purchase anything from and I believe that the staff at Zoo Creatures really does care about where their creatures find homes and are careful to make sure they do end up in happy healthy homes. After reading other reviews I was extremely hesitant to ask any questions about my new african fat tailed gecko because everyone said Zoo Creatures employees have horrible customer service. My husband... and I went there last night to get a few things and I asked a couple of employees to help ensure I was getting the right things. The first 2 employees I spoke to immediately said they don’t know anything about African fat tailed geckos and apologized but pointed me in the direction of the manager. The manager was extremely helpful and informative. This is my first time owning a reptile so I’ve been a little nervous about caring for her but the manager answered all my questions and even helped me pick out the best brands for a safe but nice looking set up. My husband and I both left feeling more confident as new reptile owners and appreciative that the manager took the time to explain the best care for her. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back soon. See More

Got my bearded dragon here! he is such a sweet boy, he is a Hypo-Translucent Leatherback, gorgeous colors and was actually bred right there so we knew he was well taken care of. He is now about 4 mont...hs old, LOVES to eat and is such a people person and cuddles with our cat! Staff that work there are very knowledgeable and helpful as well as very friendly to make sure you enjoy your experience. Definitely make a point to do the reptile tour on the weekends! So much fun for all ages. We will continue coming here for supplies even though it’s almost an hour out of our way! See More

I'm going to leave 3 stars because I love going to this store, but the conditions inside need improvement. Flies everywhere and there's a musky odor that's unpleasant that doesn't just come from the r...eptile room.

I've been here quite a few times and I think I've only been greeted at the door once. As a former retail worker, this is crucial to a good experience. I've hardly ever been asked if I need help. A few employees just make eye contact, drop their heads, and walk away as if they couldn't be bothered. Staff training needs improvement.

I will say I've had awesome luck with their feeders. I have a bearded dragon and he loves everything I bring him from this store.

I also had a really great experience with a young kid (about 15 whom I'm not sure still works there) and really knows his reptiles. I had a long talk with him as I am investing in a tegu soon and he helped talk me through housing, species, etc. I wish I could remember his name. Really knows his stuff.

Going by other reviews, though, I'm iffy to buy an animal from this company. I know they breed reptiles, so if someone who's purchased a reptile such as a tegu could soothe my doubts that'd be great.

I absolutely love this place. I bought all four of my rats from them. I just lost one this morning. She didn’t show signs of sickness. But things happen sucked that I haven’t had her a week. I’ll be c...oming back to get a new buddy for the baby until they are big enough to join my big girls. See More

Place was amazing. A fellow co worked told me that since i love animals that id love this place and let me tell you, i walked in at around 3pm, and didn't leave for 2 hours, looked through all the mer...chandise and all the different types of animals. Went there looking for leopard geckos and unfortunately couldn't see any out. When i asked the manager, he happily helped me out, and 150$ later i purchased my new mack snow raptor from them. You guys are an amazing store and the fact that you have a huge variety of animals is insane. Ill definitely be telling everyone i know about this place, and definitely be returning. See More

At first I was afraid, I was petrified. But I grew strong and I learned how to get along. I will survive, thanks to the amazing goat and chicken knowledge I have obtained through the guiding hands of ...the staff at Zoo Creatures. When I first walked into middle earth after crossing Mordor I was astonished to run into a small woodland Pixi named Abbey with mystical powers over the young birds in her care. Well after nursing them (don't ask) she introduced me to her mystic leader of the dead Tammy, who in turn told me tales of Zombie Goat Herders. You see, its not that the Goats are zombies, but rather the headers themselves had become overridden with spells of dark magic that made them believe the goats had become people, man it was a long story and I think she's still telling it, rambling on and on about goats living in houses with beds. As she droned on I wandered down to the Shire where I met an Elfin warrior named Alana who showed me her powers of mind control over the slithering beasts of the field, I was impressed, but ran after a dragon of some sort started growing a beard. I swam with a beautiful scaled maiden named Wally in the swamp of sadness but after losing my Horse Artax I left empty handed and cried crocodile tears. As I approached the Fire Swamp I noticed a sign for R.O.U.S. attending the Red Wedding in the Feeder section , I turned to Westley and Buttercup and after proclaiming that they indeed kill my father i told them to prepare to die. Before it got to deep I decided my time had come to an end at this point and second breakfast was calling me. I will return after I rest on my Iron Throne for awhile. See More

I got three male rats there recently. While I understand the conditions the rats are born into, one of mine is very sick. A visit to the vet showed he has a URI, which I knew, but I wanted to give the... young guy a chance. What would they have done if they noticed his symptoms? Would they notice? I’m supposed to be having fun with three baby dumbo rats, and instead I am giving antibiotics and hoping for the best. I know I should find a breeder, but I’ve gotten rats from here before and they lived long, healthy lives. I guess I’m just bummed and the rat situation there makes me nervous. I’d go back and say something, but a $9.99 refund is not what I’m looking for, nor is it the point. I just want my boy to get better. See More

This is the only pet store I trust. I am proud to be an official employee here. I've seen their care routine and they genuinely love the animals and the hobby. They sell such high quality animals and ...put in the effort to treat the animals before putting them up for sale. I got my blue tongued skink from here as a baby and she's well fed, no parasites and good quality. Best pet store around! See More

I purchased a Hognosed Snake from here who was awesome! I kept her until she was mature enough to be ready to lay eggs, about which time I rescued a Bengal cat. The cat started tormenting her. It a question of shipping the cat back to FL where I adopted him from, or returning the snake. I wasn't an experienced snake owner and the soon to start egg laying was not something I had not been expecting and wasn't looking forward to. Where the cat was making her nervous, and she was becoming cranky as a result, I returned her. Not only did ZC graciously take her back, but they took the time to reassure me that she was healthy and I was doing the right thing. I was grateful to them. She went to where I knew she would be taken care of appropriately and they were great about it. I have been there several times and have recommended them to others. See More

It's been about a month since we bought our snake, Fluffy. She's been doing great and we've got her eating F/T rats. She is so docile and we love her! Alana helped us when buying her. She was awesome!... Very patient with us and answered all our questions. We definitely suggest going and seeing Alana if you are purchasing a snake. Thank you!! See More

Just wanted to thank the people at zoo creatures and NERD. Kevin (the owner) was so patient with me and my fiance when it came to finding the right snake for us. Including the staff. I can see why mos...t people would be put off by the smell but most people don't realise that when you have over 2,000 animals all under one roof.. There will be a strong smell in the place. We drove 2 hours to visit the shop and take a private tour and it was amazing. Totally worth the money. Got to see so many amazing animals and the two guys giving the tour were extremely nice and knowledgeable. I could see the passion they had for these animals. Best part was their costumer service. After finishing are tour and falling inlove with a snake we purchased, we had help from one of their sales associates that took the time to help us get everything we needed for our new pet and even took it upon himself to bring out the huge tank we bought to are car. So thanks for the great time and awesome experience. Keep it up! See More

I held a water monitor for the first time at their carnival, looking into that animal's eyes is hard to explain but the feeling made an impression on me. The animals that cable tv shows make out to b...e monsters are actually intelligent animals & can be raised to be people friendly or comfortable with people. Those animals that can be dangerous are to respected but not feared which I feel is a good take on preservation of animals & habitat. Yes, it is a pet store connected to a reprtile breeding facility buuuuuut it's also a valuable educational resource as well. I suggest taking a tour as well as picking up a pet. You can learn a lot of about yourself keeping an animal alive. See More

Great store. Helpful staff. Birthday parties are super fun. Annual creature carnival is a blast. Knowledgeable staff can correctly identify the difference between sugar gliders and flying squirrels.
