Living Spring Church
July 30, 2017
Santa Barbara to San Diego
Pueblo free Methodist
A Jewish father, An Indiana mother
Born in North Hollywood, California
Boys, Beer and Besties. Ya know, the things that most ignore ya.
I was introduced to a group of people who knew this Jesus Christ.
At first I didn't understand him, but I was intrigued by his life.
Drawn in by the person, and those who followed him.
Their love and lives taught me this truth,
I was not my sin.
I was someone who had purpose
Who had a story to share.
I learned this from this group
Through their kindness and care
The Scriptures jump off the page
When I sit down to read
To know reflecting on them
Will affect the life I lead.
Each time I read the stories
It fascinates and excites.
Surprising me with unpredictability
Offering perspective, shedding light.
Knowing control is in the hands
Of the One who is the Son.
Who poured into the people
So the story is never done.
The story is unending,
it is eternal life
The mission and the vision
With clear and focused sight.
Circumstances be what they are
Despite chaos and fear
Carving out the time to listen
Right now while I am here.
Here within the story
Knowing The gospel continues in me
Letting the unpredictable unfold
in freedom be set free.
Stepping into the quiet place
Opening up my eyes
Til prayer is my source and Scripture my light, each moment of my life.
