In a special ceremony, Ms. Lana Oh, Regional Director for East Asia and Pacific for the USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), presented the training curriculum to the Executive Director of the AHA Centre, Mr. Lee Yam Ming. The event was attended by representatives from the USAID, Kuehne Foundation and HELP Logistics, the ASEAN Secretariat, and AHA Centre.

This curriculum is the result of collaborative efforts between the ASEAN National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs) and various humanitarian organizations. Through a series of consultation workshops and meetings, a curriculum that meets the ASEAN Standards and Certification for Experts in Disaster Management (#ASCEND) Competency Standards was created, making it an important point of reference for future initiatives related to disaster management curriculum development in the region.
