I had my spinal fusion done in August,1982 by Dr.Jay. I’m sad to hear he passed away. He was the mos...t caring dr I ever had. He actually cared about his patients. I had a s curve that was affecting my heart, liver & kidneys. Without the surgery, I would have died. But then we met Dr. Jay. From the moment we met him , my mom & I liked him. I was almost 12 when I first met him & after wearing all kinds of braces, he said throw them away. We did try one more brace but surgery was inevitable. It was scheduled or August, 1982. I spent 30 days there before and after surgery. What I loved about it was the hospital wasn’t like it is today. It had a big ward for girls and one for boys. I could talk to the other girls while laying in my bed. It was like having a sleepover with a bunch of friends. I loved being there because of that. I know times have changed . I would love to donate stuffed animals for the patients there? They are brand new and bagged. It’s just a small token of my appreciation for a wonderful hospital. Please let me know how I would go about that. Thank you See More
