I don't think you will find a bad review up here. The facility was very nice and clean. The dogs are lovable and happy. Rohn, our guide, is so patient with all the questions and his time. And the scen...ery- well, its Alaska. No words for that. Really there is nothing I could suggest. The experience was beyond expectations. This is the only place I found that lets you mush your own dog sled - see picture. They teach you and no one is on the sled with you. Such a special experience! Highly recommend. See More

We looked for real Alaska adventures when we booked our Alaska vacation and boy did the Alaska mushing school deliver. We spent the night at the happy trails bed and breakfast and booked the 10:30 It was everything we expected. The dogs were very friendly. We picked the dogs for our sled ride and headed out for a 5 mile ride. Everyone and everything was fantastic. I highly recommend staying at the B&B as well as the mushing school. Seeing Martin head out for a training run before us was the icing on the cake. Fantastic Adventure. See More

I cannot put into words how amazing this experience was! We didn’t have much snow and were told we wouldn’t be able to do the “half day” mushing school so we were refunded and taken on the “classic.” ...Sean was very professional and refunded the difference, even a couple days before, knowing the weather wasn’t ideal. When we got out there it was pretty icy and slushy and would have been very difficult and irresponsible to take us out on the half day! It turned out perfect and in no way shape or form were we shorted! Rohn, Martin’s son was our lead and he was beyond awesome. James took the other group and he was very pleasant too. We opted for the driver (Bill), who was a third party tour guide. He picked us up, right on time and offered many recommendations for the rest of our trip! Thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime!
Ps. We got to spend as much time as we wanted with the dogs after and I made sure to pet every one of them. They are very happy, loved, and taken care of. I had a couple favorites and had a hard time leaving

Sean was our guide I ran my own dogs in Vermont in the 90s. Met Martin in Burlington very nice person. I ran one of the happy trails teams it was wonderful to be back on the runners. Sean was ahead of... us on a snowmobile yet he was far enough ahead to give us my wife rode in the basket the feeling of being on the trail by ourselves. It was a totally awesome experience bringing back many memories of yesteryear.

One of the best days of my life. Been dreaming of doing something like this for years and traveled to AK specifically for this experience. Blew my expectations out of the park. What an honor for Marti...n and crew to let the public in and share this sport.Cant wait to return in the future. Happiest/healthiest dogs I've ever met. See More

We were excited to be doing this wonderful excursion, however the experience exceeded our expectations. From the friendly pickup/drop off service and the entire staff, plus the amazing sled ride - i...t was an experience of a lifetime. If there is one fault, it would be the lunch. I suppose we expected a little more than hot dogs with the price we paid See More

An amazing experience ! The setting was spectacular. Tranquil, scenic, and otherworldly due to the way the Alaskan sun lights up the landscape. The hands on experience with the dogs was awesome. Our d...rive to the site was like having a history lesson as Steve told fascinating stories and provided interesting facts. I highly recommend this to people of any age . See More

There are too many great things to say about this experience. The dogs were wonderful, our guide was informative and professional, even the video was fascinating! They make it easy for anyone to show ...up and start sledding, no gear or experience necessary. The icing on the cake was the hot cider/coco and snacks provided after the ride. I would recommend this to anyone. Oh...and Martin Buser is a LEGEND! See More

I can’t stop talking about what an amazing experience this was. My 12 and 8 yr old say it was the best part of their trip. The location was easy to find. Roads in excellent condition getting there. O...nce there we got coffee and hot chocolate and watched a short video- very informative. Then although we had our ski clothes with us we chose to wear the gear provided. It fit my tiny 8 year old up to my 6’2 self. It was very warm and comfortable. We then loved on all the dogs. I think the kids pet them all. We headed out for our mushing experience- wow! Great views -saw a moose. Traded places so everyone could experience the drivers seat. Took lots of pics. Then loved on the dogs some more. It was tough to leave but bought some souvenirs to remember our trip. Our guide was very informative and had been in the Iditarod himself. I highly recommend this as an Alaskan must do! See More

Had the most amazing time yesterday. Started with a prompt pick up from my hotel by Amanda. Despite the challenging roads of snow and ice, Amanda maneuvered the roads with ease. She was well-informed ...of the area as well as a great conversationalist. After an hour and a half drive we finally arrived at the kennels where we were greeted by the staff. We watched a short 20 minute video about the history of the sled dogs and then were instructed to suit up and head out to meet the dogs and get on the dog sleds. I had an amazing time throughout the hour long dogsled ride. Had the opportunity to take some amazing photos with my DSL our camera as well as captured some great video footage with my GoPro. After the hour of dogsledding, lunch was made and served all the while Enjoying the warmth of the holding area. An amazing staff, which was very courteous and professional from start to finish. I highly recommend this company. See More

What a fun way to spend a day with your family! We had a great time. My daughter looked forward to meeting the dogs for weeks before we arrived. We loved seeing them and getting to learn about how the...y do what they do. We loved our rides with James and Rohn. They were so nice and friendly and great with our kids and also with teaching us about everything. We also enjoyed meeting Martin and his wife and her dog. My daughter talked non-stop about the day after we left and about her favorite dog, Fiddler. :-) See More

This was a fabulous experience and feel everyone will have fun learning how to mush. My husband and I are avid skiers so neither one of us feel there was much of a learning curve. There was one other... person in our group that had never skied before and he did not experience any problems either. If you are coming a long distance or from balmy weather, all of the cold weather gear including gloves, snow pants, snow boots, etc. is provided so no need to pack it.
We understand the liability issues that may arise out of this request, but would have enjoyed having additional dogs pulling the sled so we could go a bit faster. Both of us are rather tall and big and we felt a little sorry for the four dog team.
If you are going to be in Alaska you shouldn't leave without experiencing this. We would have enjoyed mushing off of the groomed path if possible.
Of course the best way to improve the experience is to offer a FULL day.

My daughter and I flew in from Hawaii. Driving a dog sled was first on my bucket list. It was the highlight of our trip that included the start and restart of this year's idatirod. It was that much special after meeting Martin at the meet and greet on Thursday. Then again at the kennel where I got to actually drive a dog sled while my daughter rode and videoed the whole thing. Thank you Martin and good luck in this year's race. We're rooting for you. See More

Dogsledding was such an amazing experience! Our guide, James, was so great and knowledgeable! Getting to spend time with Martin & his family was an unexpected surprise that added to the already magica...l afternoon. Our shuttle driver, Steve, was also super knowledgeable and we enjoyed great conversation & views to and from Anchorage. Honestly, I can't recommend the Alaska Mushing School enough! See More

Cannot recommend enough - this was such a fun day for our group!! The dogs were so sweet and fun, and we loved getting into the cold weather gear. Definitely a must do for anyone visiting Alaska in the winter.

Let's go dog sledding.
