Happy 119th birthday, Shinichi Suzuki! To celebrate Dr. Suzuki’s Birthday, consider donating to the SAA’s Teacher Development Scholarship Campaign. These schola...rships can make it possible for current and future Suzuki teachers to receive quality training regardless of finances, and allow our amazing Suzuki community to grow and reach more children.
Khloe is well past Twinkle now, but we had to make videos of her playing the Twinkle variations for VSSA’s Book Promotion concert, so we worked on playing an easy piece at a Book 2 level. I’m LOVING her tone and the dynamic changes in the middle of the piece!

I had the privilege of hearing one of my students perform Allegro at her school's talent show this week. She worked for months on polishing that bow stroke at the beginning of the piece, and playing it with a strong sound. Not to mention, it took a lot of courage to perform all by herself in front of such a big audience... Way to go, Ripley!

I got to teach at the Valley of the Sun Suzuki Association's spring workshop this past weekend, and it was so much fun. The theme this year was Pirates, and the students prepared a mashup of popular Suzuki pieces and pirate-themed music, which sounded pretty awesome when put together. Here is a snippet:
Our workshop this past Saturday was a success! Here is a snippet of the final performance of the pirate music, arranged by Mrs. Hill. The students had one day to put this music together, and they sound fantastic!
"I owe my enjoyment of music to my former Suzuki years." Yes!
The little ones are the best! I loved doing Suzuki Method as a kid. Some people might say that Suzuki Method makes kids robots by playing in a group but I disa...gree. I think for beginners it brings out the confidence especially in kids and the socializing aspect of the group is so much fun.
I owe my enjoyment of music to my former Suzuki years!
Thank you Japan! ありがとうございました!
