The excellent Josh Hayes-Sheen will be kicking the event off at 9am with a workshop on source code version control using git. This is an
essential tool for software development so don't sleep in!

Following the workshop, we'll form teams and get right to hacking. You'll have to rest of the day to build something awesome. Don't worry if you don't have a team in mind yet -- you can find one at the event or go solo.

...

The only restrictions are that you can't start working on your project before the hack day begins, and teams are 1-4 people. Apart from that, you can build anything software- or hardware-related. Go crazy.

Our hack days are open to everyone. You don't need to be a student at Algoma or at all. You don't even need to be a programmer -- artists and entrepreneurs are great teammates that can give a hack the extra polish it needs to win. So invite all your friends!

We'll have some cool hardware you can borrow to hack with for the day: an OSVR HDK, a Leap Motion, a Microsoft Kinect, a Razer Hydra, and maybe more!

We'll be distributing free pizza for lunch + snacks throughout the day. We can accommodate dietary restrictions -- we'll ask on Saturday before we go out to pick up food.

At 7pm, we'll wrap up hacking and you'll have a chance to present your hack to everyone. Afterwards, everyone will vote for the best hack whose team will win $50!

The event will run from 9am till around 9pm at Algoma University in CC201.

The university is located at 1520 Queen St. East in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. From there, find the ESSAR Convergence Centre on the campus map: https://www.algomau.ca/admissions/visit/campus-map/

CC201 is located on the ground floor across from the main entrance. We'll have some signage for the event.

Parking is available on campus with a $5 park fee upon exit. You can also arrive by bus: R/S from the Dennis St. Terminal downtown or SC/AU from Sault College. For full bus routes and schedules, visit: http://saultstemarie.ca/…/Tra…/Bus-Routes-and-Schedules.aspx

Don't forget to bring a laptop and charger. If you have a power bar
lying around, bring it along too.

We have some ACSC shirts that will be available for purchase at the
event for $15.
