Work in Progress for a Battle Angel Alita / Gunnm #fanart. What do you think of the upcoming #Alita movie? I'll say it now- I don't think live action manga eyes work! But I'd recommend checking out the #manga and #anime if you like #cyberpunk, and dystopian #scifi
Now starting the shading for my recent manga girl commission. Will be going greyscale with a neon accent for the background. Thinking of trying a neon red or orange perhaps?
[I'm using Windsor and Newton markers along with a Letraset Neon.]
I'd wanted to draw some more manga style work and luckily was asked to create one for a commission- I'm half way through refining the line work before I move onto shading with markers.
What's this about? It's a design challenge entry held by Swatches (Youtube channel) - the idea was to create a character which:
* Was a Giant
* Had a distictive Tattoo
* Incorporated a Wave Pattern
* Was an Adventurer ...
* Has a War Theme
* Near Future Setting
Decided to try try a different/quicker style and managed to fullfil the breif reasonably well- deciding to opt for a post-war adventure tour guide. I was thinking the military created giants to fight in World War 3, and after all was said and done, some of the remaining giant soldiers went into touristm so show regular folk a different perspective on the world!
I recently created a special edition chrome/metallic/mirror print featuring my artwork. Didn't know how they'd turn out, but must say, they look amazing!

What's this about? It's a design challenge entry held by Swatches (Youtube channel) - the idea was to create an environment which housed mushroom based man-made homes.
Decided to try a painterly style, concentrating on the values, colours and mood.

Just at the thumbnail stage so far, concentrating on the values. Will post finished image next...
From time to time I like to tidy up my portfolio. Never an easy task to decide which works stay and which ones go and there's usually at least one thing I like about every image I create and one thing that demonstrates a different skill or technique I'm capable of. Originally my portfolio was only ever going to be around a dozen pieces, but my gallery layout allows for more without looking over the top so decided to populate it with some extra works.
