took advantage of the warmer weather and shot my first outdoor session of the season. kiley is as beautiful as she is talented and i was thrilled to be able to capture these portraits for her continued success in theater and the arts!
you all know i adore utilizing natural light in my outdoor photo sessions but just because it's cold outside, doesn't mean we can't capture some amazing family photos!
i love that this family asked me to document their favorite weekend past time with a snuggle session - so much fun!
OMG, cuteness overload. love this shot from my recent "milk and cookies" session. i'm excited to be offering more mini sessions like this next year. stay tuned and until then, enjoy helping santa eat all those cookies tonight!
it's been crazy busy but honestly i'm sad to see my season come to an end. i've had so much fun catching up with my favorite families. i love being able to capture some festive photos in time for those must-have holiday cards - don't forget to send me one!
can't get enough of these snuggles, smiles and elf shoes! thanks guys for another fun morning exploring nearby rockwood.
i so enjoyed reconnecting with this beautiful family on yet another gorgeous fall afternoon.
i've been so lucky to have an extended autumn this year. here's hoping for a mild winter so i can continue shooting in my favorite studio - the great outdoors!
..."unlike physical beauty which grabs the spotlight for itself, inner beauty shines on everyone, catching them, holding them in its embrace, making them more beautiful too."
anyone that knows maria, knows she's beautiful inside and out. special thanks to my assistant, joey...not only for his help with lighting but more importantly, for his timely photo bombs and adorable momma moments.
we lucked out this year with the late fall foliage...plenty of vibrant colors and leaves left for this sweet little guy to play in!
who needs longwood, when you have a backyard like this! i can't tell you how much i enjoyed photographing this family doing what they do best - hiking in the woods, jumping the creek, just enjoying mother nature.
they happened to be the lucky winners of a gift certificate i had donated to Wilmington Montessori School's silent auction. wouldn't you agree, their home made the perfect backdrop for our fall session!?
some parents bribe with lollipops but in this case doggie bones did the trick! happy to be able to meet this family's furry addition.
the colder weather forced us indoors and whereas i prefer to shoot with natural light, there is a sentimental element to photographing within the home. looking back on my own family pictures, i am just as much intrigued by the gold mushroom upholstered couch and orange shag rug as i am how young my parents looked when my sister and i were toddling around. neat to think about how the boys might look back on these photos one day.
during this month of gratitude, i wanted to take the opportunity to thank each and everyone of my clients for their support this year. thanks to you and your kind referrals, i am completely booked through the new year! if you missed out on a fall session and were hoping for some updated family photographs, please remember to reach out to me in late february so we can get something on the books. my season resumes in march when the warmer weather returns and the crocus are in bloom (can we just skip winter!?) until then, friends!
got my baby fix yesterday. most newborns sleep through their debut session, but not this little guy. at just one week, sweet baby jack even managed a smile! congrats to mom, dad and big sister, ellie!
another gorgeous family session on the grounds of rockwood. could these siblings be any cuter!? they made my job so easy, thanks guys!
as a mama of three girls, i was so looking forward to hanging out with these handsome little guys and seeing what the other side might be like. turns out, same crazy shenanigans, just different attire in varying shades of blue as opposed to pink! what a fun session, love what i do!
so in love with the portraits from this session. sarah was so much fun to work with and simply stunning! it doesn't take much to make me happy - give me a rock wall, a beautifully lit tree, a fun doorway and i'm a happy gal.
all smiles on this gorgeous fall day. yet another great example of a festive color scheme for holiday cards and gift giving - that's thinking ahead!
