Koda | 2 year old | Male | Alaskan Malamute x Siberian Husky
I'm Koda, snuggle bunny and big bouncy boofhead.
I love playtime, walks and being with my peeps.
I'm looking for a new home that will love and adore my stubborn arctic nature and all that comes with owning a large breed dog.
I hate being alone so I will need a doggy companion in my new home. As I can be a dominant boy at times my companion will need to female and hopefully they won't be put off by my enthusiastic and sometimes rude way of meeting new dogs. Lucky for me an ARV coordinator will accompany me on any 'meet n greets' to remind me of my manners, I can be forgetful when I'm so excited!
It goes without saying, I also get excited on my walks. I like walking on a harness and will settle down, but when I see a dog I do get oh-so-excited again and I might try to pull you along for a hello. A little training wouldn't go astray folks, and I'd be willing to follow you to group classes every week if it meant I got to spend extra time with my favourite person - you!
As you can see I do love the couch, and belly rubs, and pats, oh and attention. So I really need to be a part of the family. If not I promise you'll hear about it
:)
:)
:) I can sing....
Outside only life would not suit me, and the doggie companion is an absolute must.
I've not met many young children so I'd be best in an adult home or with high school aged children that are used to large dogs.
I will need secure fencing and at least one walk a day, I'd prefer two since I'm at my peak energy levels and fit as a fiddle... err dog.
Cats, pocket pets and livestock are tasty, and I have a healthy appetite so best not to surround me with those.
So if I'm your kinda guy, and you're my kinda family, hit me up at my application form:

Turbo the handsome Husky x is patiently waiting for his forever home at RSPCA Peninsula.
Check him out!
“The human who came to take my picture said something about saying cheese, but that didn’t make any sense to me, so instead I thought it would be far more impre...ssive if I got as much of my tongue out as possible. I’m pretty happy with the results – I think it captures my smile far better than a photo with cheese (I still don’t get what that was about… humans can be pretty weird sometimes…)
Whilst it’s difficult to believe that I’m this stunning without too much maintenance, my grooming regime is actually pretty chill, so a quick once over with the brush every few days is all I’ll need to remain spectacular.
Now that summer is just around the corner, exercise is a must so that I can keep this bod in tip-top shape. I’m an energetic young man, so getting out and seeing the world is always an exciting adventure, especially when I’ve got my special human by my side.
I would love for my new home to have a lovely lady dog so we can play together and share stories, and whilst I love everyone, my energy is best suited to a family with kids who aren’t too small.
I’m not one to dwell on the past – but my life so far has been a little bit rough, so I’m really looking forward to starting a new chapter with humans who will love me as much as I love them (which is loads – even when they are strange and think cheese is necessary for a good photo). I’m just a friendly guy looking for a second chance, and surely everyone deserves at least that?”
- Turbo, 2 years old, 71 days at RSPCA Peninsula
We're still desperately seeking foster care for these 4 homeless dogs.
PLEASE SHARE
The Akita girls have been in kennels for months now and both boys have been impounded for quite some time as well.
...Unfortunately Shadow has shown some dog reactivity of late, and whilst it is possible that it is just frustration from being impounded we are now seeking an only dog home for him.
PLEASE if you have Arctic experience, no young children, cats or pocket pets and are currently without a furry companion; we urge you to consider fostering and providing a temporary home for a dog without one.
URGENT - FOSTER CARERS NEEDED
The dogs in this album are in pounds, boarding kennels or can no longer be kept by their current owners. Without Foster Hero's we cannot help these dogs.

BeBe | 2 1/2 year old | Male | Alaskan Malamute
Big Beautiful Boy Bebe is looking for a fresh start in his young life.
Bebe (pronounced BB) is a good boy, pretty chilled and has great lead manners. Bebe is a gentle dog, but still large and strong so will only suit a family with adults.
...In typical malamute style, Bebe enjoys rough play with other dogs, and can socialise well with large female dogs, but does not seem to get along with other males. He enjoys a run around in the fenced dog park, but you will struggle to recall him once it's time to go home as he does have selective hearing when it suits him.
Bebe is still a very young malamute and he requires two daily walks to keep him happy. He is very people focused, and will do be in a home where he is allowed inside and he can feel as part of the family.
Being a malamute, Bebe is powerful, intelligent and stubborn. He has attended obedience training as a puppy and we will require that any prospective family attend a refresher obedience training class at our expense as part of Bebe's ongoing development.
If you are a malamute enthusiast that enjoys a challenge and has plenty of time and love to give to a dog, then Bebe is your perfect fit.
If you've been looking for a Mally boy like Bebe for a while now then don't delay! apply today at www.arcticrescue.org.au/adopt
Adoption fee $400

Bebe comes vet-checked, desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea & worm treated.
Bebe has a fungal skin infection on his muzzle and is getting treated with anti fungal ointment prescribed from a vet at present, we expect it to clear up shortly.
Mia | 2 years 9 Months | Female | Siberian Husky
Mia is a typical young bouncy husky. She loves to go places, do new things and meet new people.
Mia is looking for home who understands her Husky ways. The ideal family will have breed experience, older children such as teenagers due to Mia's boisterousness and definitely no cats or pocket pets as they would become lunch. Mia will need some ongoing training to walk nicely on lead and ensure she is a well mannered dog. She can't... be off-lead in open spaces as she will not come back.
Mia is very keen on your attention, so she could suit a home as an only dog. That being said she has lived with another husky and she got along well with him. She is a bit too full on for the small canines.
Mia will need a home with 6ft secure fencing and a commitment to daily exercise.

What to do on a rainy day like this?? Spend some time with Mischa, he'll put a smile on your dial!
🐕 Mischa needs a Foster Hero!
🐕
Mischa is 5 years young, super playful, even more cuddly and a generally fun and happy guy.
He loves toys, but he loves pats even more. He'd be a great full body hot water bottle curled up on with he couch on a day like this!
We think Mischa's a little under-socialized with other dogs, he can be selective so will need to meet potential fur friends before going to a home. He'd likely get along well with a friendly female husky of similar energy level, however another male dog is probably asking for trouble.
As he's a big boy he'll need a home where any children are teens and over.
His hypothyroidism isn't slowing him down one bit! He can still zoomie with the best of them and as such he'll need secure husky-proof fencing. Cats, chickens and pocket pets not likely to last long.
Initially keen to go out for a walkies he will settle down in not too long. He's a bit of a zig-zagger so further development of his leash skills wouldn't go astray.
Ideally Mischa's Foster Hero will be able to participate in some group dog training sessions to help him become more comfortable around dogs of all sizes and shapes.
As always Foster Hero's will be provided with food, bed, collar, leash, ID tag, bowls, flea and worming medication. Routine vet work, medication and group obedience classes will be paid for by ARV.
So what are you waiting for!?
Mischa is ready to go and needs a Foster Hero to help him on his way to a better life.

6 year old
Female
Akita
Ferrari is a very youthful 6 year old girl, curiosity is her middle name and she just wants to play like she's a pup!
...Whilst Ferrari is house trained, her curiosity often means she gets up to mischief in the home, beware low lying shelves and kitchen benches which might hold fun and tasty delights! Don't get me wrong, she's not destructive, but your contents will be 're-arranged' if she is not supervised whilst inside the home.
She'll need to be oh-so spoilt with lots of toys and such as she does enjoy them so
.
She's quite good to walk on lead and would do well with a decent length of daily exercise, there is no slowing down on the cards for a Ferrari after all!
Ferrari would be happy either in an only dog home with a family to dote on her, or perhaps with a friendly relaxed male doggy companion of similar nature.
A secure yard is a must as is no tasty cats, chickens or pockets pets.
Ferrari comes vet-checked, micro-chipped, vaccinated desexed, flea & worm treated.
Adoption fee $350
