It is hard when your child is sick at college, but I have to say the Health Center at Tech has been nothing but helpful and responsive - going over and above what I would expect. Thank you ATU for th...e excellent team that you have assembled in your Health Center! See More

Love the environment of the faculty and the student body. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The Athlete department is awesome. The campus looks amazing. However it is time to stop with the updates o...n the stadium and build a new one. Not that it is bad looking, but those steps are hard on older people's knees. Great place to send your child for a good education. See More

Throughout my time at Tech, there wasn't one time that I didn't have a friend where ever I went. Whether it be in the classroom, in the cafeteria, the post office, the campus ministries, intramural fi...eld, the lobby of my dorm, BazTech, Tucker Coliseum or Thone Stadium, I always had someone there that I knew and who knew me. Why is that? It's because Tech is an open environment with multiple opportunities to get involved. You meet people at all these events in all these places which makes a 4 year experience (or a 6yr like me) feel like you never left the comfort of your home. This University is safe, loving, supportive and one of the most down to earth Universities that I have ever seen. I am happy I made my choice to attend, graduate, and be apart of the Alumni @ Arkansas Tech. See More

I attended 4 different colleges and visited dozens throughout my college career. No university was anything like my time at Tech. Not only did I achieve my goals and attain my desired degree, but I le...arned about myself in that time and Arkansas Tech showed me what I really wanted to do with my life and then equipped me with the necessary tools and knowledge to chase that dream. Now, I do what I love and have a life that I enjoy.

My time at Arkansas Tech University was nothing less than a joy and I would highly suggest that to anyone and everyone, and have even talked many of my friends into transferring, all of which are more than happy with their decision.

Arkansas Tech University is a great place to call home.

This is primarily aimed to discuss what past current music majors may be reviewing concerning the music department at Arkansas Tech.

Disclaimer: I am not going to try to pretend that I am a perfect ...music major, however I would venture to say that I work pretty hard and care about my university and it's faculty.

Anyone who says they have had bad experiences with the faculty or administration in the music department probably aren't the type of music majors that actually work their tails off to become the best musician and educator they have the potential to become. If you work hard, and respect your professors, they will, in return respect you, and give you the best possible educational experience of their capabilities. The faculty are highly qualified and well distinguished in our profession and we are incredibly blessed to learn from the best in the state. I cannot fathom that anyone would ever speak badly on their behalf, unless they are the students majoring in "band" or "choir," rather than "music."

The music professors would do anything to increase their students success. I know that I have been given plenty of opportunities that have pushed me to grow as a musician and educator. These opportunities, and connections that I've made during my time at ATU will act as a catalyst for my future career as a professional music educator.

Those considering attending ATU to study music, and are ready to work hard and grow, please disregard negative comments, because they are more than likely fueled by a personal and irrelevant vendetta. You will make friends for life, be encouraged in your studies by ALL professors, faculty, staff, etc., and make a personal investment in your musical growth, that will give a return ten-fold.

If any incoming students would like to hear more information or details, please feel free to PM me.

No better place to be than at ATU. Go Wonderboys/Golden Suns/Bulldogs/Whatever else our mascot could be! I really wanted to be out of Russellville at the end of my collegiate career, but now that I'm ...gone, I miss it tremendously. Only thing I would improve on is the Greek Life. We don't need adults treating it like a junior high and regulating what grown people can and can't do, let the kids have their fun. The college experience is to find out who you are while you are educating yourself in things that will help you in the long run. Extremely happy with the department that I graduated from and wouldn't trade my experience for the world! See More

In certain departments, make sure you do not have any medical needs, or the department head will let you know how worthless you are and work her best to make sure you do not gain the degree wanted. Ye...s, I had 1 day I was at risk of being late for practice and requested a medical form. That's when it all went down hill. I ended up being 20 minutes early to that practice. For schools that care about their students, do not attend this university. I ended up having to go to a different department to finally graduate when the Dean, Admissions, Student services, and the previous president refused to confront that department head when my confrontations did nothing. I do not recommend the department I was hoping to acquire my degree from. I did work hard. I was not the best by any means, but I am knowledgeable, am skilled better in learning other disciplines within that department than most whom are excellent in their own singular discipline. I struggled with one aspect along with my primary disciple (even though knowing all is more important). I maintained As and Bs in all classes (even my singular discipline) except the one 'class' I struggled with. I earned those grades.
I am finally telling my story, in a very brief form. If you would like specifics or more info, I will be glad to assist or discuss. I will not disclose here the department as to not be completely hostile, and it wasn't the entire department either.

I will thank the department of E-Tech for working with me to finally acquire a degree, regardless of the fact it's useless. They even tried to help me with the department I was previously in as well. I thank the College of E-Tech for their help and persistence. I have my degree and have learned adequately about trusting anyone in power. :) Student Support Services is an excellent organization I was fortunate enough to get involved with. The ladies there are absolutely phenomenal. If they did not guide me though the process and supported me the entire time, I don't know if I would have a degree yet. Both these departments are the reason I even gave ATU 2 stars. ATU deserves nothing. These departments/organizaitons deserve 5.

I failed to mention the fact that the Financial Aid office was not honest in the fact that my getting married would warrant an end to all my scholarships and grants. Thanks for that too, by the way. I even accounted for the increased income. Goes to show you. *again, not going in complete detail as this simple explanation on that part does not warrant further explaining.*

Thank you. I hope your experience is better than mine.

We just brought my son for his freshman year. He is the baby and I am having a hard time leaving him and he is nervous, but everyone has been awesome so far. His RA in his dorm is great and I feel goo...d about leaving him. The feeling of family is overwhelming and just the environment my son needs. Thank you for making this a place parents can leave their children and feel confident they will be okay. See More

Tech made me who I am today and was the best decision I ever made. It's the perfect, "not too big, not too small" university and every experience, friend, professor, class, etc. were some of best thin...gs that happened to me. Graduating was sad but I was completely prepared for the real world and adult life because of the people and experiences I made at Tech. Thanks ATU for everything! See More

Arkansas Tech, for the last four years, has been my home away from home. I began as a music major and developed a family there that's still in tact although I changed my major to broadcast journalism,... where my family grew even larger. The faculty and staff are always willing to help and it just makes the university even better. The atmosphere on campus really is one big family. Arkansas Tech means the world to me and I'm happy to be an alum, but also still be a student as I pursue my master's degree. Get involved and be yourself, as all of us at Tech will welcome you with open arms. See More

The professors here actually take the time and invest in their studies. It does not matter what program you are in, they treat you as family. The school understands that life happens, they do their ve...ry best to work with all the students. I have officially finished my degrees(8years later). It is not just about the professors, the staff and students are great as well. I will forever rave about how much this school A's impacted my life. See More

I came to Arkansas Tech freshman year because I already had some friends there. But as soon as I moved into my first dorm I was in love. The campus is beautiful. The teachers care about you and want y...ou to succeed. I met so many new and inspiring people that changed my life. I'm so happy that I decided to go to Arkansas Tech in the four years that shaped who I will be forever. See More

As a parent of an incoming freshman I'm so impressed with how ATU has gone the extra mile to make sure they are doing everything they need to for my kid. I'm an alumni of Henderson State and was so di...sappointed with the whole admissions and recruitment process. I was sold on Tech really quick. I feel good about leaving my daughter 2 hrs away from home on this campus. See More

One of the things I enjoy most about Tech are my professors! This past semester, I had to miss a lot due to medical issues, but my professors in the music department were willing to work around my ab...sences! They let me take tests beforehand when I knew I would be out of class, and did not dock my grades even when I missed more than what the syllabus allowed for. They actually care about your well-being.

I can only speak from my experience in the music department, but Arkansas Tech is one of those places that if you're willing to put in the hard work and grit, it will show. The professors push you to become your best. They won't let you fail if you are working your hardest. I'm thankful for my time here at ATU!!

The Department of English and World Languages, as well as the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, has given me the skills and training in order to being my career as a high school English teache...r this fall! My degree from this university is worth its weight in green & gold to me, and I am so grateful for my departments, my RA experience, my campus ministry, and every small detail that led to this moment. I have made mistakes before, but attending ATU wasn't one of them. Fight on, Arkansas Tech! 💚💛 See More
