NEW BLOG - Drisana & Braam's wedding is up on the blog.
Drisana: 'We bumped into Braam and after the introduction, we were all walking outside so my mum asked Braam where he was staying, he said Hilton, and we said so were we. He asked what floor we were on, we said 7, he said so was he. Then I asked what room number, his was 717 and with a very surprised look on both my mum and my face, we said, we're 716!!!! Fate has always brought us together no matter what. Besides, what are the odds we would be right next to each other out of 327 hotel rooms? must be fate! We're glad that fate kept at it and now we're happily married!'
By coincidence, I spotted Thandi early one morning on a packed train and asked her if she would model for my shoot. As my first language is Auslan (Australian Sign Language), we communicated through gesture and our iPhones, which went very smoothly. Interestingly, the other passengers must have wondered how we communicated without using our voices! As luck would have it, She agreed to model for the shoot.
At the start of the shoot, the bride looked nervous and shy because we ...only communicated through gesture but as her confidence grew, she became more relaxed and felt comfortable as we understood each other. I have adopted this method when shooting newlywed couples… I believe that gesture and quietness are key to achieving the softness and calm attitude for this kind of shoot. Thankfully I also had a talented assistant who was able to communicate both languages during the shoot.
Thank you Thandi

I finally met the beautiful daughter (my new good little friend) Emily of @thewifelife in person since I followed her last Feb, I sarcastically asked if I can look after her for life... She may be one but she signed 'Thank you' in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) whenever I helped her! So cute! Captured her and her Daddy in Brisbane
