Parish officials visited the Bayou Chene barge project site today. The barge is in place and sheet pilings were being driven this afternoon. Completion of this project is expected to be on June 2, 2019. As many media sites have shared, we’ve been advised by the Corps of Engineers that the soft opening of the Morganza Spillway scheduled for June 2, 2019 has been postponed until June 6, 2019. No significant issues are expected in Assumption parish due to this delay.
