My in-laws took my family here for lunch right after my son had been discharged from Kosair. We were tired and grumpy. To be honest I really wasn't in the mood ...to even be here. Our waitress was incredibly nice and took her time go over the menu with us. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and some pretty good music playing. The food was absolutely delicious! My family each ordered the barbecue pork, fries w/ house seasoning, and potato salad. They each commented how great it was. I had the pork nachos and was pleasantly surprised how good it was! Being from Western Ky, I'm used to the vinegary style of bbq. Although, this bbq wasn't like that, the pickled onions added just the right kick. The whole experience was fantastic and we definitely left in a much better mood. Will definitely be back when we come back through this area again! عرض المزيد

First time being there, 1/07/17. It started out great...drinks were brought to us. Our server recommended lots of things. We had 2 different appetizers. Ordered... the beer sampler, and a few other drinks. The appetizers were great. Once we all finished our drinks and sampler, we were never asked again if we wanted more to drink, not even water.
We ordered our food, I got the pastrami sandwich...it was so dry and hard, I couldn't even bite into it. My first bite, I literally almost choked! My husband ordered a hamburger and had special toppings put on it. The burger was burnt, he order the egg on top over medium, the yolk definitely wasn't runny! The fries were so salty it took our breath away when we ate one! The other couple we were with ordered 1/2 rack ribs...there was hardly any meat on it. It was pretty much all fat, and the same burger my husband ordered!
On to dessert...two of is ordered the cheesecake. It wasn't till one was brought out to us, we were told they only had one left and that we could share! It tasted like the refrigerator!
Our server never asked if we needed anything, how our food was etc.
It took him 20 minutes to bring our card back to his after paying!
It was all around an awful experience, and that made me sad. We had heard so many great things about this place! عرض المزيد

We chose to come here instead of the other fine eateries we go to normally in Louisville, and I was extremely impressed! I am an artist and put much emphasis on... the ambiance of a place almost as much as the food and drink. Upon entering there is a spacious and warm feel with creative art and lighting. The display of the copper tanks that hold the incredible craft beer up above is an added bonus. I love this ! The staff of people are cordial and warm and obliging in explanation of helping to choose that brew just for you. I travel often around the country on business and I do not mind saying that you guys "Rock" a fabulous barbecue meat! It is some of the best I have ever had...and the baked beans remind me of the delicious way my mother and Grandma would make. The spices and attention to quality of the food is tremendous. The brew that I had was fantastic and creatively refreshing with a hint of pineapple. I really look forward to coming back ...many more times عرض المزيد

My friend and I were spending a day in Louisville and thought that Against the Grain would be a fun place to check out. We started out with the beer. Trying the... lighter pineapple ale first, instant satisfaction. Then we decided to get a few starters. The pork rines were killer. Super crunchy, came with hot sauce and pimento cheese to dip into. Next up, kettle chips and Smoked Beer Cheese. Amazing. It was cold, which I was hesitant about because I was having a hard time at first with the chips, then things went up. Super delicious, almost ate all of it myself. Then the pork belly came. I believe it had a molasses dipping sauce and that mixed with the crunchy outside and super tender, moist inside of the slices of pork belly was the best pork dish I've ever encountered. Phenomenal. We had our store Christmas party there tonight and boy did we make the right choice! I had never been there before, but my business partner had for a brunch. T...he food was really really great! We ran the gamut on food from pork nachos, to pork on a stick, burgers, salads and of course beer. We tried each other's food and agreed it was all really good. Couple of things I thought were totally awesome...one, the fries! They had truffle oil on them and seriously I could have just ordered those but also the pickled onions Wow! Great! The beer was good, you have lots to choose from! The waitstaff was attentive and gave us time to chat but we didn't feel neglected. We had a nice size table waiting for us when we got there and they really took good care of us. We will be back! Can't wait to take my husband and my boy there! My family dined here on 12/29 and had an awesome experience. Our server, Mae, was very informative in regards to both the food and beer menu. Three of us had ...the Pulled pork sandwich with Kettle chips. Our 7 yr. old had the PB&J. It was excellent. We even had leftover chips and beer cheese which I demolished later that evening. The beer is top-notch, as I had A Beer with the Mayor. I even got The Brown Note, Sho'Nuff and Bloody Show to go. عرض المزيد

The 4/5 rating is for the awesome pastrami Sandwich I shared with hubby. My husband orders these all the time and believed this one to be very different from mo...st, but absolutely awesome! The bread was nicely toasted and had a wonderful spread of mustard on the inside. The meat itself was amazing in that it has flavorful fatty chunks and cooked chewy bits - both very flavorful and delicious!

We also shared the Pork Nachos, but we requested fries instead of chips. The Fries were thick-cut. They had a nice crunch on the outside and a sod interior. But the BBQ sauce was very heavy on the vinegar. I think a sweeter sauce would've been a better balance with the pickled onion and feta. So we probably wouldn't order this dish again.

Good service and cool decor. Just a heads up that it's pretty cold inside and you'll probably want a jacket. عرض المزيد

Nice atmosphere. Not too hard to find. Parking was very good but I can imagine on certain nights it might fill up quick. I had the brisket and baked beans. Real...ly enjoyed it. Others with me tried the beer can chicken, vegetarian sloppy joe ( a little spicy), pork ribs, and cole slaw (called creamy but more tangy from the vinegar than expected). I really enjoyed this place yesterday. Stopped here before Reds Caravan and the food was amazing. The set up was really cool looking and loved that they hand ma...ke their drinks. Stopped in for some dinner while out Christmas shopping with the family. Love this place as always. Dinner was great, the beer was better. Kendra R. Was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out some merch and take home brew. Can't wait to go back and take time out for a tour.

Excellent craft beer! My favorite in Kentucky! Great pork nachos! Best BBQ sauce! Needs more room and more tables. We were there for trivia night and a big Chr...istmas party was sprung on them at the last minute. Crowded and a long wait. That's why I couldn't give it 5 stars. The food was excellent, and the place was very family friendly for a brewery. The beer menu was exceptional, Roth everybody being knowledgeable of the beers. They also helped me find where to buy their beer in the Indianapolis area!

I've ever had the beer before but never visited the brewery until yesterday. The food was amazing. Truffle and sea salt fries were probably my favorite but the ribs were as smokey and flavorful as anyone could want. Definitely a place I look to visit again.

Always our first stop when we visit Louisville. Great food, an awesome rotating selection of brews and just a fun atmosphere. Staff is always super friendly and fun. Whenever people ask me for recommendations on where to go when visiting, this is where I send them.

Love this place, just a fun atmosphere and of course they do a great job with their craft beers. We stopped in after our tour of Angles Envy and had dinner, was not very busy, service was great!

Atmosphere is nice, wait staff friendly. But it may take a while for a server to notice you. For the price the food is a little skimpy.

Ordered pork nachos to go with our beers and they were icebox cold. Stringy dry meat, greasy chips and lots of vinegar barbeque sauce. Who wants cold nachos with no melted cheese.....horrible.

Portland production is bottling this barrel aged brown ale made with Cervesa Montseny back in the fall. This ale was made with roasted chestnuts. We won't tell you where from though. That's Jorge's secret...

The world's are colliding! Here's a beer about nothing we did with Cervesa Montseny that we're bottling today. We did this for no reason, so under no circumstances are you to expect anything. Except a rich, chocolaty, and nutty barrel aged brown ale.
