- I first watched Ayanda on South African Airways on my way back to sc...hool. I just watched it again during an on-campus screening of the film. The movie is brilliant in so many ways. The way that language works, for example is a testament to this. The characters move from Zulu/Sesotho to English seamlessly and this really added a feel of authenticity to it. I also love how the film is not afraid to show the real side of the city. The streets are dirty, people are selling their wares on the sidewalk. Ayanda too, bares all for us to see. The scene where she takes off her wig for one is a very powerful one for me. It's an aesthetically pleasing film with a great storyline about immigration, something so pertinent to today's world. I could write on about this but I will end with a recommendation for anyone to watch it and judge for themselves. See More
