Chairwoman, Orit Gadiesh, speaks with Justin Trudeau, Malala Fund's Malala Yousafzai, and Fabiola Gianotti about ensuring access to education for women and girls around the world at the World Economic Forum.
Meet Melissa, a Consultant in the Sydney office. “Since joining Bain, I've had the opportunity to work in new industries and capabilities, participate in two fun-filled and reenergizing off-sites, volunteer in social impact endeavors, serve as a mentor to an associate consultant, be a buddy to a transferee and a summer associate, and contribute to various recruiting events. At Bain, everything happens at lightning speed – including responsibilities and step-up opportunities within and outside case work.”
We’re proud to celebrate diversity at Bain & Company. In honor of Black History Month, our Chicago office held a discussion today about ‘Wrongful Convictions in America’ and its impact on the African American community. It was an inspiring presentation led by speakers Karen Daniel (Clinical Professor of Law at Northwestern University) and Tal Chaiken (Associate at the law firm Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila).
“It has oftentimes been a somewhat lonely journey. I have almost always worked in environments where the percentage of people of color is in the single digits. Seeing people who look like me thrive and be incredibly successful has been a powerful support structure. Having role models that I could look up to in the BABs (Blacks at Bain) community helped clear a path that I knew that I could follow. It would have been a much harder path if they hadn’t walked in those steps first.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As 2018 warms up for Bain Australia (and so does the weather!) we always like to stay cool. Two leaders of our Global Talent Program brave the snow in NY. Talent is one of any organization’s scarcest resources. The best-performing companies know talent is critical to their success, and are twice as likely to invest significant time ensuring they put the right people in the right roles. Anna Ferguson, based in Sydney, and Michael Woodbury, based in New York, who lead our Global Talent Program leverage deep and distinctive expertise, supporting a range of practice/product areas - Performance Improvement, Digital, and Advanced Analytics. They work across the region on priority accounts, engage directly with clients, and enhance local case team knowledge and capability.

Bill Bain passed away on January 16th, but his memory will be preserved for many years to come in the projects, actions and words of the consultants at Bain & Company. When he started his own Boston-based consulting firm, Bain & Co., in 1973, Mr. Bain sought assignments that would last years rather than months. He promised his clients he would help them be better versions of themselves instead of merely dropping off a report filled with charts and recommendations.

With their huge spending and expanding consumer population and rising incomes, Asia’s developing markets seems to be the most promising place to sell fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). Although the potential of growth is high, a study conducted by Bain & Company has found that fewer than 20% of brands outgrow their categories in this high-growth region. Here are the reasons why…

Meet Bain alumna Julia DeWahl, Chief of Staff to the CEO at Opendoor. “Bain was fundamental to building a strong career foundation. The breadth of exposure to different industries and business problems at Bain is unparalleled, but what really made it an incredible place to launch a career was the people. I learned so much from my managers, peers and partners on how to build models, how to prioritize, how to craft a compelling storyline, and how to manage effectively, all of which have been essential to my success at Opendoor.”
Meet Arjun, a Manager in our Chicago office.

Meet Bain alumna, Angela Graves. Angela worked as a CMO for an e-commerce startup and is headed to @HBS in the fall. “Bain provided me with a phenomenal foundation for my career in terms of problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills, but by far the most impactful thing I came away from Bain with were the relationships. The people I met and had the chance to learn from were amazing. I still regularly consult with Bain mentors and former classmates on professional issues, roadblocks I might be facing, and career decisions I have to make.”
