The Whisky A Go Go has been an epi center ...for musical movements right from the start back in the '60's. The Whisky presents Barb Wire Dolls 12.20.14

Re-defining Punk for a new generation, L.A.'s hottest band Barb Wire Dolls will play an exclusive to L.A. all ages headlining show on Saturday, December 20th at The Whisky at 11pm showcasing the soon-to-be-released songs from their forthcoming sophomore album STREET GENERATION. It will be the bands' only appearance in L.A. until 2016.

DIY Street rockers Barb Wire Dolls are igniting the global music scene bringing back the spirit of rock and roll with blistering live shows and one of the most highly acclaimed debut albums in decades. Barb Wire Dolls garnered a huge buzz in the industry by selling out club dates across seventeen countries, headlining major festivals, playing over 600 shows across the globe, playing direct support for NOFX, Jello Biafra, Descendents, Bouncing Souls and co-headlining dates with GBH, Sham 69, Discharge, Cockney Rejects, Status Quo, 999, Murder Junkies, Candlebox, and Mushroomhead. This all happened in the last four years since transplanting themselves to Los Angeles and the bands' self-released SLIT in 2013 quickly became one of rock's highest acclaimed debut albums throughout the world with rave reviews like "The best debut since Nirvana's Bleach" (Music & Riots) and "The best punk album in decades" (MetalHard Mania). SLIT was recorded in just two nights by Nirvana noise guru Steve Albini at his Electrical Audio studio in Chicago.

But the story really starts when Barb Wire Dolls sold out The Roxy Theatre at their US debut show back in December of 2010 and had the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer of KROQ's Rodney On The Roq announce them personally to the audience that night. That's quite a big step for a band who flew over from Greece just a few weeks earlier after being invited by Bingenheimer who was playing their demo non-stop on his KROQ radio show. You read it right. The band is originally from Greece and their story all started in L.A. upon arriving four years ago. Dreams still do come true on The Sunset Strip. Just ask some of the members of the Sex Pistols, Motorhead, Black Flag, Guns 'N' Roses, L7, Dead Kennedys, Aerosmith, Turbonegro, UK Subs, Flogging Molly, Sonic Youth, The Cult, Fear, Casualties, Television, Nashville Pussy, Butthole Surfers, Velvet Revolver, Die Toten Hosen, TSOL, Samhain, who have all been at a performance.

The Whisky A Go Go has been an epi center for musical movements right from the start back in the '60's. Bands such as The Byrds, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Iggy and the Stooges, New York Dolls, The Damned, Germs, X, Circle Jerks, Fear, The Police, Mettalica, Guns 'N Roses, Hole and countless others have played the legendary stage.
