Big thanks to @nhsantiswindleteam, @actuplondon and @docsnotcops for taking us to Richard Branson's island to shoot this morning for #nhsborderlands
🌴
Perfect location for the shoot it's just a shame that the filthy-rich-tax-dodging Branson didn't chat to us about his virgin healthscare
💉
Thanks also the wonderful camera woman Holly Lucas

'Ministers have suspended controversial arrangements under which the NHS shared patient's details with the Home Office'
This decision is a victory for healthcare workers, patients and everyone who has fought to reverse these racist& inhumane policies. It is an important step in dismantling the #HostileEnvironment created by this government but as our documentary will show there is STILL more work to be done to ensure access to healthcare for the most vulnerable in our society.
We have NEARLY reached our target, thanks to YOUR support! Please throw some ££ our way if you have it and share this widely even if you don't. Link here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/bare-life-films
Tomorrow the immigration exemption clause in the Data Protection Bill is being debated in the House of Commons.
In light of recent data sharing scandals, we must be wary that this exemption is a terrifying example of how tens of thousands are put in jeopardy when some lives are considered worth protecting and others are not.
Our documentary explores how the data-sharing between the NHS and Home Office is racist and dangerous for ALL.

Amber Rudd may be gone but her replacement is just as complicit in the racist implementation of the hostile environment. He has consistently voted in its favour.
With just under 3 WEEKS to go, we're already over half way to reaching our goal! THANK YOU to everyone who has shown such amazing support so far.
Please keep donating and sharing our crowdfunded to help expose these injustices

On Saturday, we marched with those affected by the shameful Windrush scandal to the Home Office. By Monday, Amber Rudd had resigned as Home Secretary. One small victory! However, this is not a stand alone event or mistake - it is the direct result of the governments wider creation of a hostile environment for migrants in the NHS. The fight must continue.
No one should be afraid to go to the doctor, either because they can’t pay or they fear detention and deportation. Our doctors, nurses & midwives should not have to act as border guards to their patients.
In the recent ‘windrush scandal’, Albert Thompson, an elderly commonwealth citizen who has lived in London for 44 years, was denied NHS cancer treatment as he did not have a passport. He was unable to pay the £54,000 fee. As Labour MP David Lammy states: ‘These aren’t isolat...ed cases. This is not a glitch in the system – this is the system’.
Our documentary, NHS Borderlands, explores on the racialised outcomes of the government’s creation of a hostile environment within the NHS & and its impact on individuals, health workers and the public health.
If you have any spare £££ please support our film which hopes to shine a light on the stories of people affected, which are multiple, nuanced and deserve to be heard in their entirety. Thanks to all that have donated so far !
We are Bare Life Films, a small group of activists and filmmakers, who felt compelled to come together to respond to the government’s recent ‘hostile environment measures’.
We are crowdfunding to make this documentary - NHS Borderlands - on the introduction of immigration checks, charges and data sharing within the NHS. Our film will explore the racialised outcomes of these policies within the NHS and their impact on individual health, public health and healthcare profession...als. In particular, it will capture and support the efforts of grassroots groups working to reverse these discriminatory policies and defend universal access to healthcare.
Too often headlines reduce migrants to a crisis of costs and numbers, rendering their humanity dispensable. This dangerously obscures the violent racism these policies espouse to those who do not experience it. We really appreciate your support to amplify the stories of the people affected, which are multiple, nuanced and deserve to be heard in their entirety.
Any donations are hugely appreciated. Please share widely and like this page to keep up to date with our progress!
