I experienced a pleasant surprise last weekend in Galway when I visited 'An Chaladh' never expected this bar to be so cool and lots of good vibes.

Live music was vibrant and authentic. This bar is a must when visiting Galway.

What a spot such good craic we will definitely be back I must say the staff (doc and brian shorty) are the best couldn't do enough for us !!so friendly and helpful. Best spot in town lads by far :-)

Service was terrible, man (told was owner) rude, cannot pull a pint, abusive - left the bar knowing I would never go back! I have spent years in the same industry & this bar was totally unacceptable! They need to remember not all their clientele are 20
year old students!!!

Absolute gem of a find. Friendliest & most helpful owner & staff. Called in easter sun daytime with children whilst dining at papa rich upstairs. Clientele so ...friendly and welcoming to strangers which you don't always find! Music by Jon bullman was thoroughly enjoyed by us all and kids got alot of attention which they loved! The bar itself was full of character and you could literally spend a whole day looking at and reading the signs, anecdotes and artifacts dotted all over. .even the ceiling! Loos spotless and husband got great laugh out of the sign on the gents cubicle which says. . The office! Really hope to return here. . Maybe for an adults night out in the future. Have to say drinks reasonably priced as well. . On ordering 7 up free for kids a bottle of lemonade was popped on the bar with glasses to 'help yourself'. You don't get that very often in the city! Shows that custom is more important than grabbing every cent to this business owner and is a joy to find. Lucky locals to have this place to frequent! See More

Barr An Chaladh is an absolutely cracking spot! I make a point of stopping in every time I'm in Galway. Great cozy atmosphere, great craic, great staff, great m...usic, great location, just great. This is what every traditional Irish bar around the world works so hard to achieve, in Barr An Chaladh it just seems to come naturally to them :-) See More
