What a gorgeous place to stay! The cottage was beautiful...Very spacious and comfortable and surrounded by amazing gardens. We saw deer in the lane leading up to the cottages and because there's no li...ght pollution up there you could see an unbelievable amount of stars in the sky. It was a good base to explore North Yorkshire. Thanks Heather and Richard for being great hosts, we'll be back! See More

We stayed in Jade Cottage and had a fantastic time. Beautiful rural setting with amazing gardens. The cottage was lovely and spacious, and had everything we needed for our 15 month old - wooden cot, s...tair gate, high chair and even a play house. A great place to stay! See More

The big, open skies above us at Basin Howe can provide breathtaking views of the stars. We are only a few miles from Dalby Forest which has national status as a Dark Skies Discovery Site because the Milky Way is often visible to the naked eye. Book a week in one of our cottages this summer to enjoy stargazing. Pics by Russel Norman of the North Yorks Moors National Park. (NYMNP)

Deep snow in Wykeham Forest around Basin Howe this winter. Unless they were good 4 x 4 vehicles family guests had to leave cars down at the village!
