I’ve been shopping at BassPro and Cabelas for years, but tonight they have lost my business and the business of hundreds of other women shooters in the area. You see, we had a fundraiser event schedul...ed to take place at Bass Pro in Foxborough. Late today we were informed that they were “postponing” two days before the event was to take place. The event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Women Gun Owners and the Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts. Both organizations are focused on firearm safety and training. The event was a concealed carry fashion show. The tickets were sold out and we were all looking forward to it.

Enter the gun control activists and all of a sudden our event is canceled. What kind of message does it send to people intent on taking away our civil rights when they can so easily influence a corporation to change its plans? Not the kind of message we want to send them, I can tell you that.

To Bass Pro, and to Cabelas by extension, I say to you, for shame. How could you cave to people who don’t even shop in your stores. They do not have your best interest at heart. Whereas I and my women friends who shoot spend literally thousands of dollars every year on your merchandise. Rest assured that those dollars will be going to other stores now. I will not patronize an organization that thinks so little of the rights of their customers that they would treat us in this shameful way.

My wife and I, as well as our friends spend and have spent thousands of dollars with this company, as well as Cabela’s, which they now own, and I usually enjoy purchasing items for my outdoor recreati...on at both Bass pro and Cabela’s, so it is unfortunate to find out that Bass Pro shops does not support the rights of the people who shop there. I will no longer be shopping at bass pro shops or Cabela’s ever again, because apparently a fashion show is too offensive for Bass Pro shops.
You have made a huge mistake in the state of Massachusetts.
I used to go to small business vendors for my needs, but it was difficult to find everything I needed and so I went with convenience, now I see the cost of convenience, so I will look for mom-and-pop shops to fill my needs, and I will never forget the valuable lesson that was taught here.

Went to bass pro Arundel Mills to buy a smoker that was listed as in-stock on the webpage. When I arrived the camping department associate had a hard time figuring out if it was in stock or not (which... is ok since he had started in 2017) but than when he called MOD for help he was given a short reply and told to “figure it out.” He than suggested that I purchase the item online after which I showed him that the item was not available online and was in store only. I asked if I could buy the floor model. He again called for the manager and asked for assistance. Again the manager failed to help and I was not allowed to purchase the floor model because they had lost the power supply. I’m a long time supporter of bass pro and actually worked at this store for 4 years through college. When I was an associate, I once told a customer over the phone that an item was in stock, but when the customer arrived we could not find the item (a trolling motor). The customer was upset so I reached out to my MOD (Brian Hunt) and we worked together to get the customer a trolling motor AND gave him a good discount for his trouble. This customer told me he would forever shop at BP and would tell all his friends about how helpful we were.......apparently at some point between that time in 2006 and now customer service is no longer a priority and managers just hide in the back and only talk over the radio. It’s a shame. See More

Kids lives matter more!!!! More than the money, more than the pride. I STRONGLY believe in the right to bear arms but please I implore you, evolve.

“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws... and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.” - Thomas Jefferson See More

Went to bass pro in Auburn Hills Michigan and traded in my rod and reel at the entrance. I went there to purchase the carbonlite 2.0 rod and reel in their spring flyer. I found the rod and they had ...the reel but told me that wasn't the one on special. I said okay where is the one on special? They said they were out. I said I have it in my hands. They said it was different. I said fine, even though is was a carbonlite 2.0 rod and reel. I said I will take a raincheck or just pay and order it right now. They said they wouldn't do it.
I have since contacted customer relations in chat, phone and e-mail. I haven't heard back from e-mail but I have chat and phone and both were unwilling to help and even stated they had other identical complaints.
I have been a long time bass pro customer and they have obviously turned into a corporate conglomerate with no care for their customers. This was "bait and switch" pure and simple.

UPDATE: Bass Pro redeemed themselves. To my surprise I was contacted by the store manager and they did honor their spring flyer price of $119.95. I am the happy owner of a carbonlite 2.0 combo and Bass Pro shops is in my good graces again.

I find it deplorable that a store in my own state of Missouri is the lone holdout on retailers that still sell Assault Rifles online and in store. I was planning a trip to Springfield this summer to my 18 yr old son the Bass Pro Shop there and allow him some highway driving time with me for reassurance. If Bass Pro continues to be the hold out, they won't be on our list of stops to make. Shame on Bass Pro for selling guns to kids! See More

Customer Service going downhill . Placed a order for a baitcast reel and received someone else’s order and the Representative wants me to find a drop off location instead of having it picked up and th...e reel I ordered was delivered to someone else of which the rep said they would try to locate and call me back since the reel is no longer available . 2 days later no return call and the order belonging to someone else is still here . Thinking of ordering a Nitro z19 pro but if that’s the way customers are treated by Johnny Morris ...NO THANKS . Tackle Warehouse can have my business. See More

Ever since bass and pro took over Cabela's they cancelled all military discounts on all firearms and basically everything else (boats, equipment, bows, ex.) except for clothing. Good to know how they for servicemen and women who helped make a business such as theirs possible. They also cancelled employee discounts on all those items as well. Very dissatisfied with this decision as a purple heart veteran, I appreciated the small discount on firearms and it was mainly why I went there because they seem to care for their service members. Not anymore. They obviously don't appreciate their employees or service members. See More

I can’t give your store more then 1 star until you take the same action that every other major U.S. retailer has taken - and stop selling assault-style weapons. My family and I enjoy visiting your sto...res but you will not have our business until you take this important step to protect our children. See More

After the mass shooting in Parkland, FL, it's time for common sense measures to be put in place by both lawmakers and responsible business owners. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart have raised the min...imum age to purchase guns in its stores from 18 to 21 and will stop carrying assault rifles, Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's should do the same. It's the right thing to do! See More

Hang in there Bass Pro Shops! I understand the concerns of people with regard to the "Armalite Model 15" being in the wrong hands, but Assault Rifles were banned many years ago! People need to do thei...r research and stop feeding into the media frenzy! You have a Right to sell what you want, and they have a right to shop somewhere else. The inanimate object is not the issue, the person behind the crime and those that failed to prevent it are. You, nor the NRA are responsible for what happened, a sick and misguided young man created this horror. So if you stop selling rifles, next handguns, next knives, when does it end? Stand by the Second Amendment! See More

I will no longer shop at BPS they canceled a concealed carry womens fashion show at the foxboro store. They are not supplying a reason so it can only be that they caved to the liberal lunatics and ch...ose to alienate the actual sportsmen who spend money at the store. Not one more dime from me! I'm sorry to say but I'm through with bass pro shop!!After being a loyal customer who spends quite a bit not just in store but online their most recent Fishing Classic sale did it?Who advertises an it...em on their Sale circular then only has a handful in stock an No Rainchecks!!!I'm referring to the Johnny Morris Carbonlite casting combo.Every Store in Florida was "Sold Out" within a few days?I ordered online an as the ad did allow this an told the item was backordered but would receive it in 30 days.I had no problem with that. Then the next day I get an email update-saying No backorders on this item!!Sorta makes me think a way for bps to get you in their store as they know you'll purchase other items?Well as a Avid Florida bass fisherman I've decided to take my business to Academy Sports?I feel as-a rewards customer for many years bps could have done better with this situation!!

Been a faithful BPS customer for 30+ years.... drove AN HOUR to the East Ridge TN store to get the Carbonlite II combo (Spring Fishing Classic) only to be told they were sold out.... asked for a rain ...check, was refused.... there's nothing in the flyer stating "while supplies last" so basically a bunch of folks like me got screwed over....I understand that mistakes happen, but Bass Pro Shops refused to make it right, which makes me think Tackle Warehouse deserves my business more. I'm proud that Johnny and Bass Pro have held fast to our Constitution. They understand that it freedoms were bought and paid for in blood by Patriots past and present.
