Reminder: We have a work day this coming Saturday, October 8, where you get to help 2 parks for the price of 1: Portola Redwoods State Park and Pescadero Creek County Park. Details here: http://www.trailcenter.org/…/saturday-october-8-2016-porto…/
Last weekend on September 10, the Trail Center worked in San Mateo County's Memorial Park with park staff to reopen a long closed section of the Mt. Ellen Nature trail and improve numerous portions of its remainder, including much tread widening, improving drainage, and cutting back overgrown vegetation. Thanks to all our volunteers, old and new! We look forward to returning to Memorial in 2017 to work on the Mt. Ellen Summit and Pomponio Trails. https://goo.gl/photos/7pWRNWv6RPvgpWV19
Join us for work on the Saratoga Gap Trail. Don't delay, this will be a sellout, standing room only event.

We worked with Connor this summer and were part of this project in July.
The Sierra Buttes realignment project is anything but ordinary in comparison to your typical trail maintenance and construction project.
From July 28th to July 31st, 2016, Trail Center members along with two crews from the American Conservation Experience (ACE) and two technical advisors from the PCTA were engaged in building steps and a retaining wall on a reroute of the PCT near Sierra Buttes. One rock at a time ...

Cancellations have opened up some additional slots for our end-of-July Sierra Buttes weekend. We are looking for a few more volunteers for this trip where we will be constructing a new section of the world-class Pacific Crest Trail. Join us for this amazing event. E-mail volunteer@trailcenter.org

How does it feel to cut an 18-inch log blocking the trail on National Trails Day? It feels great!

One interesting thing you can do is walk the trail in its "before" state using Google Streetview because they've captured it using the "Trekker" backpack camera:
