Yesterday our Diversity and Inclusion Committee worked in partnership with the British High Commission team to host an award event for the winners and finalists of our 2nd Annual Celebrating Diversity Photography Competition. We were delighted to receive even more entries this year and to reach further into our local community to get people thinking about issues in diversity and inclusion. All finalists and winners were included in our 2018 Celebrating Diversity Desktop Calen...dar (copies can be reqeusted from the Chamber team). The winners, Wong Chek Poh, Harris Norzlan, Ong Yi Chao and Maryann Kiong Kai Qin produced excellent entries and received cash prizes, large framed prints of their photographs, and winners certificates presented by the British High Commissioner H.E. Scott Wightman. In November last year, Wong Chek Poh and Harris Norzlan were also delighted to be invited to an exclusive event hosted by the High Commissioner as a welcome to HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. Congratulations to the winners of the British Chamber’s Celebrating Diversity Photo Competition 2017, Chek Poh Wong, Harris Norzlan, Yi Chao Ong and Maryann Kio...ng Kai Qin.
For the competition, which is supported by British Chamber’s Diversity Sponsor Barclays, participants were invited to submit images on the subject of what diversity and inclusion means to them. The winning photos from the 2017 competition were displayed at the High Commissioner’s residence during a reception on 30 January, along with a 2018 calendar containing all of the leading entries. Two of the winners, Wong Chek Poh and Harris Norzlan were also able to meet Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall during her visit to Singapore in November and show her their winning photos.
