The Train Show, one of Pearl River United Methodist Church’s biggest fundraising events, and most popular draws with the public, began in 1990. Since this time... the Bergen County Model Railroad Club has sponsored the event, creating many different layouts, from mountain passes, to city streets and Thomas the Tank Engine setups for the youngsters. The church participates in many ways, from donating food for the dining car, and cooking lunches for visitors, to ticket takers selling tickets, to publicity and advertising for the event. While the club’s members may have changed over time, the enthusiasm shown by all of the show’s attendees has not. We continue to draw thousands of visitors annually. Attached is a photo from a 1995 train show, with Joanne Griffith and her grandchildren attentively watching.
Back in 1990, the show lasted only one weekend in late April - See the attached flyer. This year the train show lasts for four weekends: From February 17, 2018 to March 11, 2018, including February 19, 2018, Presidents’ Day.
We hope to see all of you there. Look for further announcements on this Facebook page and in local media. For more information please go to: https://buff.ly/2FBbrHI
