If you have a goal to get to a healthy weight, here are 6 simple ways to lose a little weight from Mayo Clinic. They're a great place to start, because the change is small and sustainable.
Once you master one change, you can build on it to take on bigger challenges. Don't be afraid to start small. It DOES make a difference, and it IS a big deal.
Remember, each step you take is something to be proud of. You've got this my friend....
Inspire. Love. Act. Shine.
Today is not only the first day of spring, but also the International Day of Happiness! Yay!! A twofer!
Haha, I love saying twofer. It makes me giggle. Go ahead try it. Say it out loud, really fast, with a lot of enthusiasm. Fun, right?! 🙂 You’re welcome! 😊 And Happy First Day of Spring & International Day of Happiness Angels!...
I hope you have a great day!
I’m quite frustrated right now with a particular situation I’ve been dealing with for what seems like a very long time. I feel like I’ve had to restart 100 times. And it’s really frustrating. But this goal is important to me, and I am NOT. GIVING. UP.
I’m sharing this because I want to encourage anyone who may be feeling frustrated with achieving something as well. It could be your relationships, finances, health, career, or anything else that doesn’t seem to be going your wa...y.
Sometimes in life you just have to restart something 100 times. But you get up, and try again. Because the 101st time may be the one that works and changes your life forever.
Keep going my friend. It will be okay. You’ve got this.
🍀 Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! 🍀
I celebrated today wearing my O’Neills jersey from my friend in Ireland, eating some delicious Shepherd’s Pie, and organizing all of the fun mail I get from my favorite little one, aka my mini me! She sent a charmed green bracelet and drew the best picture of the two of us in matching outfits! It’s been a good day today. 💚
How are you celebrating St. Paddy’s Day?
Taxes are done! Wheeee! 🙌
And my accountant surprised me today by giving me these beautiful little notebooks handmade for me by his wife! I love them! 💕
I’ve had kind of a hard week. Yeah, taxes are no fun, but I’ve been missing my brother. The grief comes in waves and sometimes just pops up out of nowhere. So today I just want to be thankful for the time I did have with my brother, sit with Harley in the sun that’s shining brightly today, and fill my new little notebooks wit...h everything else I can think of that I’m grateful for. If you don’t already know, if you’re reading this, please know I’m grateful for you too.
Happy Monday Angels!
I absolutely LOVED this short story from SUCCESS Magazine and the 4 tips they shared on how to make your day extraordinary. If you're a fellow dog lover, you'll love it too!
I challenge you to spend the 3 minutes it takes to read the article and ask yourself...."What if you woke up like your dog? How would it change the way you see the world, and the way the world sees you?"...
Have a great day!
Change takes time. It’s a process. We often attach ourselves to the outcome, without any regard to the process. Sometimes when I’m coaching, there are moments when I believe in my clients more than they believe in themselves. I can see things they aren’t accustomed to giving themselves credit for. Like strength, compassion, creativity, tenacity, and resolve. They embody so many things needed to succeed. In time, and with a series of small wins, this changes. Their confidence ...grows. The challenges they take on are bigger and bigger until the very goal they set out to achieve is now right in front of them. They did it. And you can too. I assure you.
My advice is to believe in yourself, but also surround yourself with people who believe in you too. If you don’t feel you have that readily available, come here. There are thousands of us here in our Destination Angel community ready to cheer you on. You’ve got this my friend. We believe in you.
If you didn't know my son was adopted, you'd swear we share DNA. Except for one thing. Well maybe two. But the first thing you'd undoubtedly notice is the difference in our apparel. I'm so low maintenance it's not funny. Except when I'm teaching or on camera, 99% of the time I'm in athletic gear or pajamas. Except when he's sleeping, 99% of the time, Pav is impeccably dressed with suits, ties, and vests. I remember when he was little, he even wore his little tie clipped to his pajamas all the time. He LOVED that thing!
Many thanks to Kristen of Kristen Ann Photography for capturing this incredible photo of my handsome son! ❤️
Weight loss is a common goal for many of my clients. To help them achieve this goal, I use a proven process I was taught while studying at Mayo Clinic.
I do this by helping people change the behavior they want to change to create a completely customized healthy lifestyle that works for them. Not by copying what they see someone do on social media, or by promoting a particular “magical”, “life-changing” supplement.
I'm not going to sugarcoat this for you. For the absolute ma...jority of people, it's your habits and behavior you need to change. You’re not overweight because you haven’t yet found the secret “life-changing” supplement. Or because you haven’t tried the latest fad diet everyone seems to be swearing by. And for the love of all things holy, it’s NOT the carbs! It's that you eat too many of them (&/or the wrong kind). Unless you have a medical diagnosis that requires you to limit your carbs, it’s not the carbs my friend, it’s you.
While that may sound harsh, and truthfully the whole “Tough Love” coach thing really isn’t my style, I felt this needed to be said. I’m growing increasingly uncomfortable staying silent as I watch many people be sold on something with unproven claims, completely unnecessary, and sometimes downright dangerous.
While not always the case, the majority of time weight gain is about our habits. It’s about our behavior. It’s about the fact that we while we know we should put the donut down and move a little more, we just don’t do it.
So please know this…..There are very loving and healthy approaches to getting to and maintaining a healthy weight. I promise. You just have to be committed to finding one that will work best for you and one that you can maintain. And that can take some time. So give yourself plenty of grace, and lots of love. And you’ll need to take action. So muster up the courage to STEP INTO YOUR MOMENT & TAKE ACTION!
To help, I created a free training program complete with multiple videos and a worksheet you can download to help you start changing some of the habits you want to to create new healthy habits that help you achieve your goals. You’ll find it in day 2 of my free 7 Day Training Series packed with my most popular free resources to help you live a Happy, Healthy Life, Full of Purpose & Meaning. Whether it’s a weight loss goal or anything else, I’m rooting for you! You’ve got this my friend!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the children who competed at the 2018 Minnesota State High School League Music Contest this week at UMD! ️🎉
These kids work hard all year long, just like their fellow students who happen to be athletes do. There are many, many hours dedicated to their time competing in the state competition.
But there are no assemblies held for these kids as they make their way to the state competition. And there are no assemblies for these kids to be honored in fr...ont of their classmates for their accomplishments. You know, the very same type of assembly they are all required to sit through for the student athletes? I sure hope that changes some day. And I say that as a record breaking athlete who competed at state in high school. It’s not sour grapes. It just doesn’t feel unreasonable to want to see these kids have the same opportunity to feel good about their hard work and accomplishments too. ❤️
These are the very same kids that play their instruments at your games. And the very same kids who sing the national anthems before you play. So how about we celebrate them too? And their teachers and accompaniments who put in hours upon hours of their personal, unpaid time to help their students shine.
So, CONGRATULATIONS kids! And a heartfelt THANK YOU to the teachers and everyone else involved to make this happen. You guys are amazing! 🙌
The following is an excerpt of my son's superior rated solo performance at the state competition today! Good job, Pavle! ️🎤
Tonight’s dinner is an example of how I use the Mayo Clinic Meal Planning tip I shared in my FB Live last week. It was delicious! 😋
I shared how I use the tip for my breakfast and snacks in my FB Live, so I thought I’d share my dinner tonight to give you an idea for that too!
Let me know how you’re using the tip!...
Have a great night Angels! 👼
I'm still working on #2. It's been my nemesis for years, but I'm not giving up! And I loooooove #7! 💜
