A train wreck of an organization. The board is hand picked to be "yes men/women" for the ED. Financials skimmed through and no true fiscal transparency. The best hope they had was their new Deputy Dir...ector hired last year. The ED was threatened by her competency, and organizational capabilities and got rid of her with no notice, compensation or severance. The organization has had zero advocacy victories in the Texas Lege for years with no hope ahead. There is zero respect for them at the Capitol. See More

Your endorsement of an Austin City Council candidate who is only marginally friendly to cyclists at the expense of Natalie Gauldin, who commutes by bike daily and who volunteers her time to advocate ...for bike infrastructure shows that you simply did not do your homework and by that you have done a disservice to your membership. It's extremely disappointing. Add to that that you typically don't endorse candidates in local elections and that your ED is a friend of the endorsee, it starts to look like cronyism. See More

BikeTexas endorsed an anti-biking advocate, Leslie Pool, for Austin city council because Robin Stallings, the executive director of BikeTexas, is a personal friend with Pool and donated to her campaig...n. Shouldn't BikeTexas put what's best for biking before corrupt cronyism? See More

Gorgeous day to leave the car at home and bike to work! Did you know Austinites use the Trail to commute to work more than 124,000 times each year? By keeping these individuals off the road, nearly $727K is saved annually in congestion costs to Austin businesses and residents.
