Billy's Law will be airing on FOX at 10:00!! I Just got in from Lansing, the hearing went really well, we had positive feedback. Today we had a Judiciary Committee hearing for the House of Representatives. We should hear what the vote was soon this next coming week or so. 🙏🏻 If we get voted in from the committee, then it we will have the opportunity to be on the House floor. 👏🏻 We were so lucky to have our right hand man John Collins. He did an amazing job explaining and answering difficult questions today. We appreciated the time we had with the Committee and we are hopeful for the outcome ❤️ Thank you Senator Schmidt for supporting our Bill! Don't forget to catch FOX at 10:00! Thank you for the prayers and good vibes!! Lets keep pushing 👉🏻

Drinking and driving isn't worth taking someone's life. You can't ever take the pain back. The choice is in our hands. Its life shattering when it happens. I look in the rear view mirror every time I am slowing to a stop with my kids in he car. A built in reaction from losing Billy Kochis. Don't drink/drug drive. It's not worth it for you or anyone else!

Billy's Law is with Shannon Kochis.

Hi everyone, I know it's been awhile since I have updated everyone on the status of Billy's Law.
Last year we passed the law through the Senate and it was never introduced to the House. So now I am working with Senator Wayne Schmidt to get the process restarted again! Now Billy's law is Senate Bill 80. Currently we are waiting on a hearing to be set in place, we are thinking it will be February 14th in Lansing MI.

I can't thank you enough for your continued support on this Law. Please send me all your good vibes and prayers for this to be passed! Also it would be amazing if you had the time to write a letter to the senator in your area! That would give us a better push in the right direction! Thank you!

A Constitutional Perspective on Billy's Law (SB153)

As we take a moment to reflect on the passage of Billy's Law (Senate Bill 153) as it is prepared for consideration in the House, it is important to advise our supporters and followers that a considerable amount of work was done to consult with constitutional experts and defense attorneys to understand how best to strike a balance between the right of the people to fully investigate certain deaths and injuries caused by Michi...gan drivers, while not violating their constitutional rights.

The key to striking this balance lies in a clarification included in our bill. This provision ensures that the results of any chemicals tests made possible by Billy's Law NOT be automatically assumed to be admissible in criminal trials. This important provision is as follows:

THE RESULTS OF A CHEMICAL TEST FOR WHICH A PERSON IS CONSIDERED TO HAVE GIVEN CONSENT UNDER SUBSECTION (1)(C) ARE ADMISSIBLE IN A CRIMINAL PROSECUTION FOR A CRIME DESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION IF THE COURT DETERMINES THAT REASONABLE CAUSE EXISTS, INDEPENDENT OF THE TEST RESULT, TO BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON WAS IMPAIRED BY OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR, A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE OR OTHER INTOXICATING SUBSTANCE, OR A
COMBINATION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR, A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, OR OTHER INTOXICATING SUBSTANCE.

Thank you again to Senator Wayne Schmidt and his staff for their sincere support.
