#BlainePD Press Release
On February 22, 2018 at approximately 6:00 pm the Blaine Police Department received several reports of a threat referencing “bhs” students on multiple social media sites.
This threat does not reference Blaine High School.
The information received was a screen shot that appeared to be from Instagram. Blaine Police Detectives began to investigate this immediately. Their investigation revealed that the screen shot that was reported to us was taken from a ...news media story today in Belen, New Mexico. The information and screen shots that the Blaine Police Department received are identical to the one that was featured today in the KOB Channel 4 News Story from New Mexico.
At this time we do not believe there is any credible threat to students at Blaine High School.
RECENT SOCIAL MEDIA THREAT IS NOT RELATED TO ANY OF OUR SCHOOLS We have received multiple reports of a social media threat referencing "bhs". We have confirmed that this post is related to a threat made to Belen High School in New Mexico earlier today. This is NOT related to Blaine High School. Additional info to follow in an official press release. For more: https://a.tip411.com/a/67332

Public Works Road Maintenance Update
Our weather service is predicting significant snowfall overnight. The roads are generally still salt covered, so we are not putting out additional chemicals this evening but will respond to problem areas.
We plan to begin full plowing operations early tomorrow morning to have things relatively clean by the morning commute....
Public Works is aware and planning for a similar storm moving in Saturday afternoon/evening.
Please remember and remind others that the City has an overnight parking ban in effect. Vehicles parked on the streets overnight create problems for our operations and reduce our effectiveness. The police department has been asked to ticket cars in violation of this ordinance.
State Patrol Recognizes Heroic Act by Officer Barry Koch
Officer Barry Koch received the Lifesaving Award from the Minnesota State Patrol at their annual awards ceremony in February. He and State Trooper Alex Arnsdorf saved an individual from jumping off Airport Road over Highway 10. Trooper Arnsdorf was able to distract the individual through conversation while Officer Koch approached from behind and pulled the person to safety.
The Minnesota State Patrol established its awa...rds ceremony to honor the exemplary efforts of troopers and recognize citizens and members of other law enforcement and emergency service agencies who performed commendable acts to assist troopers and help others.
