Road construction is mismanaged - lanes are closed for a long time even when construction takes a short time.

Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department is proud to offer an exclusive invitation to the public for the 2017 Public Safety Open House.

This unique event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 17th at the City Complex, located at 45 E. Long Lake Rd. in Bloomfield Hills.

There will be food, activities and safety demonstrations etc. for all ages. There will be a 50-50 raffle with all proceeds going to the Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids. Signs designating free pa...rking at surrounding area businesses will be posted.

With a focus on Public Safety, the Open House will feature interactive and entertaining activities for all ages. Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) Kids Fingerprinting will offer free CD-ROMs of kids’ fingerprints, digital photographs and descriptions for parents in case their children become missing. Children will be able to enjoy face painting, Daisy the Clown, Stan Safety the magical Fireman, a photo both w/ props and will be able to spray water from a real firehose!

“Taste of Bloomfield Hills”, featuring local eateries within the city and surrounding area, will offer a variety of food for residents to try along with ice cream, cotton candy, cupcake decorating and beverages at no cost to guests.

Special attractions will include: Michigan State Police K-9 demonstration, Oakland County Sheriff's Office Mobile Command and Tactical Response vehicles, a rock climbing wall, station tours including the gun range as well as our fire trucks and newly designed police cars on display. Department members and City staff will also be on hand for a meet and greet.

Serenity Pediatrics sponsoring Medical Students from the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine will present and promote pediatric well-being through fun and interactive activities.

The City of Bloomfield Hills and all Public Safety Department members look forward to this event every year to showcase the beautiful facility and demonstrate the capabilities of your Public Safety Professionals.

Road Commission for Oakland County reports a road closure that may affect Bloomfield Hills' residents: Big Beaver Road will close between Kensington Road and Adams on April 12, 2016 in Bloomfield Township and Birmingham.

Quarton Closed from Chesterfield to Woodward

Please note Quarton will be closed between Chesterfield and Woodward beginning Wednesday, April 29th due to construction. A detour route will direct traffic from Lahser to Lone Pine to Woodward. The work is expected to be completed around July 1.
