Unfortunately after being so impressed on the training weekend I recommended to friends we should meet here for Christmas lunch. We sat in the bar area as no table available in the restaurant and thi...s is where it started to go wrong. We could not open a tab with the excuse people run off??? Every place I’ve ever been allow you to have a tab, take a credit card!! Then the sharing breads were not available after we had ordered and paid. My salad that should have had onion peppers etc came out with chicken (hard) and just lettuce. I took back and had to wait ages. The lady refunded me and got my friend coffees but the whole lunch was ruined as my friends had eaten, one had to go just as I finally got my meal. Also my friends steak was over cooked but she was hungry so ate it!! You showed such promise what a shame!! See More

I went with a friend last night.. sat in the bar area, which is decorated nicely. Drinks are overpriced £9.30 for 2 pints of grolsch & they couldn’t even fill the glasses. Asked for a menu & was told ...they only had a £6 menu on, full menu off due to chef being ill. We then ordered BLT’s to be told they only have white bread. I asked for well done bacon.. it came out soggy & lettuce had black bits on it & was not fresh.. chips were fried to an inch of there life, when biting into the oil poured out. Also had to hunt for our own cutlery & sauces, shame as I’ve always enjoyed it here in the past! See More

After reading reviews I went to see for myself. And it's absolute rubbish, the service was great, all waitresses very helpful, and the place is spotless, my friend spilt her drink and before we could ...pick up the glass one of the girls was cleaning it up and another bringing a replacement over. Everything was wonderful. Dont read the reviews, people quoting how the pub used to be back in 1994, go for yourself you will NOT be disappointed. 5* See More

"Class meets Country" loved this place. Visited The Blue Bell just before Chrismas with a friend who had recommended the pub since its makeover!! Well what can I say.. I was completely overwhelmed. I ...can't remember the last time I went to such a beautiful traditional country pub.The refurb is perfect, and the food and service is even better. Their attention to detail in the place, with cute board games and dogs welcome in the bar area made it for us. To top it off I had some of the snazziest cocktails I've had in a local pub ever!! Definitely recommend xxx See More

We visited the Bluebell Inn this week after the revamp and our expectations were exceeded!! The restaurant looks so nice and modern yet cosy and sophisticated!! The new menu is great and I was expecte...d a huge jump in price (to pay for the revamp) but was pleasantly surprised for the standard of food. Service was excellent, food was excellent and the new gin and cocktail menus are fabulous. See More

We stopped here during a long journey as it’s half way to our destination, well worth the de tour, we were greeted by friendly staff who said the pub had been recently refurbished, it looked fab. We a...ll had lunch in the restaurant and all the meals were thoroughly enjoyed and served in good time and with a smile. If I’m in the area again or passing near by I look forward to revisiting. I took my girlfriend here for our 3rd year anniversary and everything was perfect from the food and cocktail menu to the service. The place looks great after the recent refurb and the staff went above... and beyond when they found out it was our anniversary. Would highly recommend!! See More

Not a good experience at all, service was shocking, drinks not delivered as the order was lost, food taking 40-45 minutes to arrive and from the first meal being delivered it took 8 mins for the last ...one to be placed, mainly due to the fact that the waitress was working on her own and having to walk around other staff and the manager doing very little, Sophie you were a little workhorse tonight and you were certainly on your own delivering food and desserts without you we would never have received our meal, you were great
*kitchen ..The food when it arrived was good but not worth the poor service or wait, front of staff are letting you down.
*note to management please inform your staff that without customers they will have no job, should we complain and ask them to check with management with regards to our bill,it's not professional to be in our direct view to discuss it with you with attitude and body language, very poor professionalism and clearly aimed at our table.
On a positive note Sophie thank you so much, you should be commended and you defiantly earned your wage and the wage of several others who clearly didn't work as hard as you.

Not a chance would I go back to this place, the staff don’t have a clue, the food wasn’t as described, felt totally isolated with two small children, disabled access was blocked with chairs and high c...hairs, no cutlery was offered when food arrived, definitely not a family pub See More

It’s lucky to have 1 star! Service was appalling! Wrong food sent out! And they didn’t seem to have a clue when we asked for what we ordered. When the food did come out it was tasteless and not as des...cribed on menu! The salad leaf was more tasty!
Didn’t feel welcome with 2 small children! Will never return

The staff were really nice and friendly. Some of the dishes were good but I would avoid the steak, we ordered medium rare and the came out nearly well done we did tell them and they replaced with new ...but unfortunately they were the same. Also the prices of the drinks are little steep. See More

My friend and I took advantage of the January 50% discount and duly turned up for a very early evening meal. There were very few people in but it was still quite a few minutes before we were shown to... our table... in the unheated and very cold dining room. My friend kept her coat on throughout the meal and I kept my scarf round my neck to keep the drought from the windows and fire escape at bay. After a few minutes we realised the menu was for lunchtime, with a small choice of meals including a Ploughmnan’s Lunch. We asked when the evening menu kicked in only to be told “we aren’t doing an evening menu today”. We had a quick debate as to whether to go elsewhere or make do and ended up ordering. My friend chose 8oz steak but the menu said it could only be cooked medium or well done - the reason for this, we were told, was it is thin. They weren’t kidding, my fish goujon were thicker! It looked most unappetising and came with a handful of rocket leaves and ‘steak’ chips - on the menu it said Steak and Frites which to my mind are thin French fries, I had the same with my fish despite that being advising as with Frites too. The fish was really lovely and plentiful. The tartar sauce had been spread on the plate and had the chips plonked on top. No other vegetables or salad were served. We went mad and ordered pudding - chocolate brownies, they were the children’s version apparently. It must have taken a good quarter of an hour before the brownies arrived. The base of the dishes were freezing, the brownies were room temperature at best. The worst of it was they were dry and tough, the spoon nearly bent trying to chisel a bit off. The young lady came and cleared the table and was given a demonstration of the toughness of the brownie and agreed it wasn’t good. We noticed a couple of other tables were eating food not on the lunchtime menu we were given, it turns out they HAD been given the evening meal menu after all. See More

Not great all my food came out luke warm, the beer my husband had was flat so had to take back to have a new one and didn’t feel there was much of an atmosphere. Over priced for what it is as well.

Me and my son plus 2 of our friends, came to dine here today, as we had waited patiently until now to come and try with the refurb done and this pub being our local. The pub looks lovely and the refur...b has been done well. Staff are still as friendly, however that being said waiting to be served food and to even pay the bill was ridiculous. An hour we waited for food and 20 minutes just to pay the bill. The food was all brought out at different times, my son ordered chicken dippers with chips but didn’t want peas or beans, however his was served up with beans anyway and came with 6 chips on the plate in total. I ordered a turkey roast, now being £11.95 I expected something a bit nicer than meat as tough as ghandi’s flip flop, roast potatoes that weren’t chargrilled and veg that didn’t resemble slop. I was not impressed at all especially as it was served only slightly warm and barely any gravy. It was also very bland. My friends said their main dinners were ok but very basic and nothing special. On enquiring about the 50% offer, we were told that desserts were included within the offer by a waitress, and also the Facebook page suggests that it is included within the main menu also. Usually I would be going for dessert, however it’s the same old basic menu and nothing took my fancy. My two friends however, did have dessert under the impression it was 50% off and despite enjoying this very basic cookie, they were disappointed to find out it wasn’t 50% off and so had to pay £10 for 2 cookies. This experience has not encouraged us to return anytime soon which, is a shame as this is our local which we enjoyed coming to on a regular basis. See More

After reading some of the comments or the new and improved pub being a shambles I was quite worried to dine here. However I wanted to see for myself. I am so glad I did!! First impression I love the s...habby sheek theme it makes it feel much more like a restaurant than a local pub. The food took slightly longer but it's because the menu is 85% food now instead of microwaveable like before. Even the tartare sauce and burger sauce was homemade. Our waitress was amazing! Knew all about the changes and was interesting knowing it's now an accent pub for marstons so more Independent. If you want cheap pub grub this isn't the place anymore but if you want a quality meal and scenic surroundings this is the place. I love what they have done with the place! I personally think a lot of the bad reputation is being created by locals who aren't happy with the positive changes.

Definitely going again!

After finishing work on Friday 23rd December, I decided to take my two work mates for a festive drink, we are builders so we sat in the bar area, after buying all the staff behind the bar a drink we w...ere then told by the manager not to come back in this pub again, when I asked why I was told because we were wearing work clothes, I explained we had only just finished work, but this was laughed at by the manager, who then pointed out that work wear is not permitted on the premises, especially if you have some paint on them. In total disgust I can honestly say our night was ruined and I will never step foot over the door while these rude managers are still there. In the same area of the pub other people over heard what was said to me and they also are in disgust and many other people in the Malvern area are also disgusted by this stuck up view that workmen are below the level of there customers. Absolutely awful. Have been a couple of times at lunchtimes. Ordered a ploughman's which took ages to arrive. The pork pie had been frozen and the ham was cut so thick that it looked more like a gammo...n steak also served the smallest slice of cheese. Certainly not good value for money.
I certainly would not recommend the Bluebell for a good place to eat.

Came across this place by accident, saw dogs were welcome and went home and got the dog. Had a lovely long afternoon here, the staff were great, and the gin menu was a fabulous edition. A new favourite.
