Southwest Airlines joined us today to celebrate this very special airplane—the 10,000th produced 737. And if you’re thinking 10,000 is a mighty big number—you’re correct! Guinness World Records has updated the 737 as “the most-produced large commercial jet” in aviation history. (We’re kind of a big deal). 😳
Tune in to hear Marc Allen, President of Boeing International, discuss Boeing commitment to a strong transatlantic partnership
To celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, we’re highlighting women across Boeing who make us better every day.
The 10,000th 737 just rolled off the assembly line and we are in awe. 😍 Thank you to our many customers! We love building 737s for you with excellence, pride and passion. #DYK the 737 family has carried more than 22 billion passengers? That is equivalent to every single man, woman and child flying three times. (2016 world population was 7.4 billion). #Boeing #avgeek #aviation
We just want to say mahalo (thank you) to a very special customer. Hawaiian Airlines agreed to purchase ten 787-9 #Dreamliners. Bringing the most innovative airplane to one of the most beautiful places on earth. http://bit.ly/Hawaiian787
Bigger isn't always better! Boeing engineers think a shorter inlet can be the answer to more fuel efficiency as engine designs change. We tested a #Boeing-designed and built short inlet on a Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine to understand how well the new inlet directs air into the engine’s fans. Take a look.
Certified! The 737 MAX 9 was awarded type certification by the FAA and is now being prepped for first delivery to The Lion Air Group.
FAA certification affirms that the airplane’s handling, systems and overall performance all comply with required aviation regulations to ensure safety of flight. It marks the culmination of a test flight program that began in March 2017 involving two test flight airplanes.
Boeing Global Services’ success in the marketplace took center stage during the Singapore Airshow, where we announced nearly $1 billion of business.
