MOST HIGHLY DECORATED: A total of 36 Americans have earned "The Big Three" (At least one MOH, Service Cross, and Silver Star). They are reflected below with the...ir awards (exclusive of DoD awards) of the Purple Heart and higher. These are among our most decorated American heroes. Note, however, some of of most highly decorated heroes did NOT get the MOH. In fact, the most highly decorated living American is NOT a MOH recipient: [Distinguished Service Cross (Korea), 2@ Distinguished Service Crosses (Vietnam), Army Distinguished Service Medal, 2@ Silver Stars (Korea), 3@ Silver Stars (Vietnam), 3@ Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Soldier's Medal, 3@ Bronze Stars, 5@ Purple Hearts, 4@ Air Medals] - Don't worry, Erich Anderson and I will get around to him in this series of posts.

It is 507 pages containing 1,547 awards (MOH, NX, DSC, SS) to 1,303 Navy Medical/Dental Officers, Hospital Corpsmen and Pharmacist's Mates with the full citation for more than 1,100 of these awards. Cover price for the print book is $24.95 but I've asked Amazon to reduce the price to $19.95 through the end of the year. KINDLE version will be live tomorrow and I plan to offer the KINDLE version FREE this Thursday and Friday. This week I released two more books, bringing to SEVEN the number of volumes in the "United States Navy Heroes." During WWII an estimated 5,000 Silver Stars were awarded to members of the U.S. Navy Volumes VI & VII are INCOMPLETE but comprehensive, identifying 4,241 (85%) of these Silver Stars with full-text citations for 2,725 of them. With these 7 Volumes I have compiled close to 95% of all Navy awards of the Silver Star and higher (including DSMs), with citations for 90% of all these awards. LIMITED TIME SPECIAL: From November 15 - 30, I've reduced the price on Volumes II - VII to $19.95 each. (Because Volume I is so large - 630 pages, Amazon will not allow me to reduce the price further.)
In preparation for the big (Kindle) book giveaway next week, I recently re-did and updated the first volumes in each set (Navy, USMC, Army, USCG) and released the new USAF book. I've also re-formatted the Kindle versions to read a little easier. (Kindle is okay, but some of the readability of the tables is lost in the Kindle version.) The FIRST volumes (MOHs) in each set are now updated and current as of November 1. ALSO, as an aside, if anyone is interested, I do have TWO co...mplete sets with everything except the USAF book which is so new I don't have it myself yet. This is a set of 24 books, each from 400 - 600 pages. They are originals, and the only thing missing is the two most recent MOHs. Retail value of the 24-book set is $600 but to clear my in-house inventory, if anyone is interested I'll sell each of these sets for $300 each, post paid and signed.
