Stay safe, east coast! We will be closed tomorrow (Thursday) and hope many of you are able to curl up warmly at home with a good book during this treacherous storm.
YES! Thank you for joining our "third-place" community. "Layte cites the notion of the “third place” — a gathering space beyond home and work. It turns out we need destinations like neighborhood bookstores, she says, 'to be full humans.'” Three cheers for all the neighborhood bookstores out there!
Chatham hosts the town-wide Christmas Stroll this weekend! We are hosting Chatham’s own New Yorker cover artist, renowned children’s book author, and our neighbor, the award-winning illustrator Bob Staake at 2pm to celebrate his newest title "The Book of Gold" - a gem of a gift for any curious person in your life. We'll even have Gold Sprinkle Cookies! Hope to see you!
In this season of gratitude, we are grateful for bearing witness to the most romantic moment possible in the life of our indie bookstore! Michael Tener designed a proposal for Michelle Koufopoulos this fall which included hiding a book he'd written about their shared history among the stacks...it was the highlight of our fall to be included in his proposal plan! The best news: SHE SAID YES! Wishing the beautiful couple a lifetime filled with happiness!
Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls Volume 2 currently in stock!
Congratulations to the National Book Award winners! We will always be proud of Min Jin Lee for Pachinko making the short list of Finalists for Fiction! It was an honor to host her this summer. Here she is at the Wequassett Resort with co-owner Caitlin Doggart-Bernal last August after her riveting, heartfelt, emotional Author Talk. She's a marvel, both on and off the page!
Thank you to all of our veterans! We are proud of our town's welcome to those who serve. Many merchants worked together to create welcome gift bags and gift certificates to greet the veterans who won free stays at the following Chatham lodging establishments: Captain's House Inn, Carriage House Inn, Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham Gables Inn, Chatham Inn at 359 Main, and the Chatham Wayside Inn. A special thanks from a special place. #thanksveterans #gratitudefromchatham
