Because of long-term habitat loss across the West, many bird species – like this female northern harrier – have seen a decline in population numbers, with the U.S. Forest Service listing the northern harrier as a sensitive species. OSMP is closing trails at the Gregory Canyon Trailhead and in the Flagstaff Mountain area, including the Viewpoint Trail, because of the #GregoryFire until further notice. Please avoid these areas to help firefighters fight the fire. Flagstaff Road is also closed in both directions from 6th Avenue to Mile Marker 5.
