Saved our homeschool. Literally. we would not be where we are without Bravewriter. I would not have found the courage, resources, and inspiration to have co...ntinued beyond the first 3 months. If I hadn't stumbled upon Julie on Youtube and joined this amazing, inspiring community I wouldn't be enjoying this homeschool life and it's options with my family. I wouldn't have had the guts to take on my middle schooler this fall, or my daughter's dyslexia- or found Rita and Moira @ Rooted in Language. We wouldn't be diving into Fairytales, living vicariously through Tom Sawyer, or studying nature. My family is better, my children are healthier, and we are having a blast living the Bravewriter lifestyle.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I love this lifestyle, learned about bravewriter when during our big break around this time two years ago, but it has taken me until now to start implementing i...t fully. My kids and I are loving it and growing so much because it allows us to learn while still being who we each are during the process of learning how we learn and building our relationships as well. I'm still new at it, but I'm learning how to put it into practice. So grateful we found Brave Writer lifestyle. So far, we consistently do Poetry tea time and free writing routinely. Still reading my copy of the bravewriter jungle Ebola that I printed out and bonded. I also love the coaching and encouragement for me. Hoping we can do the bravewriter basic altogether soon, trying to budget it. See More

The Brave Writer Lifestyle meshes so perfectly with our family and homeschool philosophy that I almost feel like it was designed for us.

How often can you say ...that about curriculum?

So it’s no wonder I gush about Brave Writer all the time. The Brave Writer Lifestyle has helped shape our homeschool. We are better for it.

And yet, when you ask me to describe what the Brave Writer Lifestyle looks like for our family, it’s challenging.

If you are a product of the public education system, you are used to schedules and routines and checklists. On Monday you have forty minutes of gym class and on Tuesday you have forty minutes of music. Everything progresses in order, from A-Z. You keep going until you finish. And then you move on.

Brave Writer is not like that. If you are a person who needs a lesson plan, this is not a program for you. Brave Writer is fluid and ever-present and it grows with your family. It’s not a program, it’s a lifestyle.

Brave Writer emphasizes routines over schedules. It is made up of moments and relationships and big juicy conversations.

And, once you relax into it, it’s absolutely wonderful.

We're on our 3rd full year of using BraveWriter. I've seen less resistance and more writing come out of my stubborn boy than I had ever hoped to see. I'm not ...saying it's easy, but this approach is so much more enjoyable and realistic, it sets you at ease. The first time I read A Writer's Jungle I swear I cried half of the time because it just seemed to speak to me and take a load off my back that I felt was dragging me down. I'm so glad I found it when I did! See More

Our family loves Brave Writer! It allows us to homeschool on our own terms. With 6 kids, from 3-13, we have used many, many of the BW products and loved them all. They are tools for creating the connected homeschool that we all need.

What i love about brave writer is Julie Bogart! She is a exceptional person, writer, coach..
She is inspirational and it seems like in every scope she offers so... much wisdom and passion. If she is that good her brave writer curriculum must be too. Can't wait to get started. I love her new poetry tea website! See More

This is our fourth year using Brave Writer products as our core language arts program. My kids are 14, 12, 10, and 8. After 4 years, I SEE how confident they ...feel at writing and I witness their love of sharing their thoughts. This curriculum and the associated lifestyle of learning changed our homeschooling for the better. I can't recommend it enough. See More

I am in love with this program, I am so passionate about it because it changed EVERYTHING in my homeschool. I am a writer and yet I was failing at teaching my k...ids to write, I was focusing on all the wrong things. Now writing is our favorite part of the day! Wow wow wow, you won't regret this! See More

We are one week into brave writer and partnership writing and this has been an awesome week. No one complained once and they even said they love what we are doing. It is so easy to follow! I am one happy mama

It is a privilege to not only teach my own kids writing through Brave Writer methods and materials, but to teach other parents and young writers here at Brave W...riter is an experience like no other. There is simply nothing else out there for homeschoolers like Brave Writer. After being here for 12 years, I'm just as enthusiastic about working for and teaching at Brave Writer as I was in 2002 when I started here. Julie is a constant inspiration, and **I love my job!!** See More

Julie, Love your insight - wish my "government required" schooling had taught just half of what you cover in your writing tips. Also love that you write conver...sationally. My Grand-kids will not be deprived. They are being taught to write using your tips. I believe if you can write coherently - you can do anything. Love the way your mind works! See More

I am a huge fan of Brave Writer! It has completely changed my way of thinking about teaching writing and both my daughter and I are so much happier for the It's just such an organic way of learning that it flows well with our other work. I've had The Writer's Jungle for a year and have found so many useful ideas in it. I recently purchased both Jot It Down and Partnership Writing and I'm excited to implement those ideas this year. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Brave Writer!!! If you are looking to put the joy back into language arts, this is it. Writer's Jungle is one of the most valuable books I read, in that it is teaching me how to work with my kids at their different ages/stages and how to encourage them rather than drilling and killing their spirit for writing. Teens want risk and adventure. They want to prove to themselves that one day, they will in fact be competent adults who live in the world outside the living room walls. They can’t know that they will be successful in that world until they get their hands on it—until they are out in it!

How do we—the anxious parents of these gawky, voice-changing, hair-growing, newly curvy bodies—give them what they need without panic and anxiety?

Teens present a challenge to parents who are used to the cozy snuggly younger years of wide-eyed curiosity about lady bugs. Teens can become bored by the wonder of the world around them as they navigate the far-more-interesting-to-them inner world of their thoughts, emotions, and yearnings.
