The people who work at Brown funeral home are very caring and helpful. They were wonderful with my Grandfather's passing and 5 weeks later my Mom's passing. I fully recommend this business. Thank you to everyone who works there.

Benedict “Benny” Charles Parisi, 75, of Inglis, FL passed away February 7, 2017 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus & the Nature Coast. He was born on September 23, 1941 to Charles and Maryann Parisi in Patterson, NJ. He grew up in Ridgewood , NJ. He served his country in the US Army as an MP and was discharged from duty in 1966. Benny was a professional firefighter for the Ridgewood Fire Department in New Jersey. After 14 years of faithful se...rvice, he sustained an injury that forced his retirement in 1980. He moved to Florida in 1985. Benny was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Loretta S. Affonso. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Zdzislawa “Dazia” Parisi, his Aunt Ruth Hryncewich Grund, and seven cousins. Family will receive friends from 1PM until service time at 2PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL with full military honors.

Steven Edward Stockwell, age 69, of Homosassa, FL, passed away February 17, 2017 at his home. Steven was born on January 7, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to Walter E. and Grace E. (Thomas) Stockwell. Steven originally moved to FL in 1970 and went to work with Gulf Steel Corporation, his wife's family business, in St Pete FL, where he learned the rebar and steel trade until In 1975, he opened Stockwell Steel with crane and steel erection services which he operated until 1985, and ...then continued to own and operate the business providing rebar detailing services until his recent death. Steven enjoyed work, fishing and scuba diving.

Survived by two daughters, Samantha G. and her husband John Taylor and Jennifer M. Stockwell; four step children, Rosanna D. and her husband Justin Mieles, Dang P. Hoang, Dang M. Hoang and Chase E Stockwell; two sisters, Nora “Susie” Keefe and Vickie C. Dunneback; two brothers, David E. Stockwell and Larry W. Stockwell; three grandchildren, Tabatha A. Ives, Chloe I Mieles and Connor P. Mieles.

Karen was born March 22, 1946 in Suffern, NY to William and Adelia (Jones) Champeau. Karen moved to Citrus County 12 years ago from Cornwall on Hudson, NY. Ciro J Orientale, age 71, of Hernando, FL, passed away February 16, 2017 at his home. Ciro was born on June 25, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Genarro and Raffaella (DiDomenico) Orientale. He moved to Citrus County five years ago from LI, NY. Ciro was a self- employed Commercial Fisherman, a Marine Corp Veteran, a member of VFW Post 4252 in Hernando, FL and he was Catholic.
Survived by his four children, Gerard and his wife Nancy Orientale, Maureen Gonzalez, Cerria Torres and Mic...hael and his wife Hayley Orientale; three sisters, Lucille and her husband Jim Baade, Maryann and her husband Butch DeRosa, Joette Oles and Donato and his wife Judy Orientale; eight grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, FL. Doreen Anita Pickett, age 72, of Ocala, FL, passed away February 13, 2017 at West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala, FL. Doreen was born on September 3, 1944 in Barbados to Alfonzo and Olga Bishop. She moved to Marion County in 2006 from Newburgh, NY. Doreen was a dedicated Registered Nurse of over 40 years and a member of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Ocala, FL.
Doreen is survived by her husband of 45 years, Hersal Pickett; two children, Hersal R. Pickett an...d his wife, Sarah, Jerome Pickett and his wife, Tina; three sisters, Miriam Bishop, Yvette Bishop and Velma Bishop; two brothers, Edison Hope and Carl Hope; four grandchildren, Hersal Pickett II, Justino Estella, Ricardo Pickett and Mackenzie Baltar; and many other family members. In addition to her parents, Doreen was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbert Hope.
Family will be receiving friends on March 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in support of the Doreen Pickett Scholarship Fund at Marist College, 3399 North Road, Poughkeepsie, New York 12601. Stephen C. Belitrand, age 77, of Crystal River, FL, passed away February 7, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Stephen was born on May 20, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to Caeser and Jacquelyn (Willis) Belitrand. He moved here in 1988 from Bricktown, NJ. Stephen was a retired School Bus Driver for Citrus County Schools; he was a Naval Reservist and a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Crystal River, FL.
Steve is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Katherine V. Belitrand; four children, Steve Belitrand, Jay Merenda, Ricky Belitrand and Christina Touchton and her husband Guy; one sister, Regina Morris; and eight grandchildren.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL.

Jean C. Bradford
Born January 1, 1924 in New York, N.Y. Married to Dr. Spencer G. Bradford on February 12, 1944. Active in the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Auxiliary for many years; she also was active as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, PTA, Roxborough Chorus, various choirs of the churches she attended. A gentle loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, her family was her treasure. She loved to sing and play her auto-harp al...ong with family and friends. She wrote poetry and was a published member of the American Poets Society. Active and supportive of the churches she belonged to, she helped with teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Her strong faith continued to under-gird and support her through the last few difficult years of medical challenges, and radiated to others around her, both patients and care-givers alike. She will be greatly missed by her family of five surviving children, 6 surviving grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-granddaughters, and her many friends.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL.
Family will be receiving friends from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 11th 2017 at the Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Hernando, FL.

Lorraine Flynn, age 69, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away January 29, 2017 at Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL. Lorraine was born on January 3, 1948 in Dumont, NJ to Lawrence James and Eleanor Barbara (Welch) Castor. She moved to Citrus County 15 years ago from Leonia, NJ. Lorraine was a Beautician, a member of the Community Church in Beverly Hills, FL, Fishing Club, the Beverly Hills Surveillance Club and she enjoyed Bowling.

Thomas Jefferson Burgess, Jr., 77, of Rensselaer, NY and Homosassa, FL passed away February 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family in Florida. He was born on July 14, 1939 in Albany, NY to Thomas and Elizabeth Burgess, Sr. An accountant for most of his life for the State of New York, Tom served his country in the US Navy and was proud to serve on the USS Hale 642. He was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church in Rensselaer, NY as well as the American Legion Po...st 1683, Rensselaer Sportsman’s Club, Tin Can Soldiers Club the VFW and Eagles Club. Tom and his wife have been seasonal residents of Homosassa, FL for the last 10 years. During his time in FL his interests mirrored those in NY and he was a member of the local American Legions, Elks Lodge, and VFW. Over the years, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scalloping. Tom is survived by his sister Patrica Hogle. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Joan LaFayette, Elizabeth Teal, Connie Sees, Mary Jane Hall, Richard Burgess, David Burgess and Marjorie Burgess. Tom is survived by his loving wife Frances Burgess; children Charles (Patricia) Burgess, Colleen Hamm, Tammy Burgess, and Thomas (Stacy) Burgess; Debra Wagner, Laura Baker, Brenda McLean and Winston Jefferson Burgess; grandchildren Jeremy Burgess, Dana Burgess, Shane Griffin, Ashley Griffin, Thomas Burgess III, Scott Tedford, Jr., Kassie Burgess, Jessica Marshall, Jaclyn Ogden, John McLean and David DiPierro.
