About Rules for Monetization

Pages can use their content to earn money on Facebook. However, doing so requires compliance with certain policies. Our monetization standards are broken down into 3 sets of rules:

Community Standards

These are our foundational rules against unsafe content that depicts graphic violence, nudity and hate speech. In most cases, even non-monetized content must follow this set of rules. Learn more about Facebook's Community Standards.

Partner Monetization Policies

These standards typically apply at the Page level. They address the behavior of your Page as a whole. They include rules for the content your Page creates, how that content is shared, and how your Page receives and makes online payments. Learn more about our Partner Monetization Standards.

Content Monetization Policies

These rules typically apply at the content level. They address the content of each individual video or post that your Page publishes. They include rules against violent, sexual, criminal, graphic or profane content. Learn more about Content Monetization Standards.

Violations and appeals

You can check a specific Page or video's ability to monetize at any time in Creator Studio. If you believe one of your videos or Pages has been incorrectly restricted, you can submit an appeal directly to our reviews team. Learn more about demonetization.
