Troubleshoot Phone Call Issues
5,411 views
Your confirmation phone call should come within two minutes after clicking “Call Me Now.” The phone call will come from a 650 or 216 area code.
Make sure:
- Someone can answer the phone call.
- The phone number provided doesn't go to an automated service (including an answering machine).Note: We're not able to leave messages. A person must answer the call to get the code.
- The phone number isn't a toll-free number (starting with 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 or 833).
- The line isn't busy.
If you're providing a Google Voice number and having issues, ensure that “Call Screening” is turned off.
To turn off “Call Screening”:- In the Google Voice mobile app:
- Press the menu button (☰) on the top left.
- Click Settings.
- Go down to Screen Calls and make sure it’s turned off.
- Click the Settings button on the right hand side (the Gear symbol).
- Go to Screen Calls and make sure it’s turned off.
If you're not receiving a phone call:
- On a mobile device, try adding +1-650-285-1001 as a contact in your phone. You can remove the contact after you've received and submitted your code.
- On a landline, ensure that your organization doesn't block certain phone numbers. If so, try adding +1-650-285-1001 as an approved caller.
