Where you have me to talk, no I'm uh hmm anyway. Next weekend okay alright good afternoon. Everybody, uh good afternoon. I wanna thank everybody for coming out. The air here we are in complete soon to celebrate almost 10 years of historic service representative community that's been undergoing dramatic change uh. We have to make sure that we elect somebody who understands that change. You understands and extraordinary diverse today that is the hallmark that is a celebration of what California stands for. I'm so honored to have this opportunity is uh Doors and strongly support the next governor of the state of California for great lieutenant governor gavin newsome got three Ugh gavin represents the best leadership that we can offer and standing up for california's values we have a President who, on every single day, is trying to stick. It to the dreams and hopes of every single California. We have economic policy that unfortunately, is leading to a crisis and so many lives of good hard working Americans, whether it's lack of access to housing, lack of access to higher education, lack of basic decency in regards to a roof over their head or feeding uh somebody's, fulfilling somebody's stomach and so we need leadership that understands On a daily basis, the power affecting change that moves people's lives forward and that's our boo. 10 o'clock. If I'm very, very excited to bring for our next governor gavin newsom Thank you and uh first of all thank you all of you that don't know what the heck is going on. I. Wanna thank you all. The guests here. I wanna thank all of you that are here. Uh with intention, particularly uh John, had all of john's supporters and I just wanted to go Crowd hard you work on his behalf. You know it's not lost on me. I know how intense an experience like this must be, and I just want to express my appreciation to all of you that that believed in him that have been with them for years and years uh. I have been out of this campaign trail for three years, one thing I've never heard was any negative thing said about job down now, one person could ever criticizes character uh his authenticity uh. He is elect uh. He is A remarkable person beyond being remarkable public servant and I absolutely respect and admire those that were his champion. Uh and that believed in him and work hard to try to get him over the line. None of this is there were 27 of us when we started uh now we're just down to two and then make us better or worse, that were in that final two we just is what it is mean a moment that moment can change we're just at that point now. I'm trying to be another moment and I think John appropriately frame that moment And that contest that is this election in the state that's precious potent and powerful at this moment in California and someone said to me, the other day said the Democratic party was so flipping comment. So you know, the Democratic party is not the opposition party California is the opposition party. It was a way of basically asserting california's leadership at this moment Eric and understands this intimately as the leader of the Democratic party in the state and everything that he's trying to do, it assemble the The various parts of this Democratic body, together and stitch it back together in a way that we could not only win the hearts and minds of those who wanna support the next governor of California, but those down ballot races, not just the other statewide races, not just the Assembly and Senate races, but profoundly and significantly uh to take back the House of representatives and put Nancy pelosi back where she belongs uh as Speaker of the House. It is incredibly important that this party unified and so that's really the spirit Why we're here the spirit of unity, up coming together across our modest differences and I can assure you there modest. I spend a lot of time with John, not just on the campaign trail. We served on the state lands Commission I've followed his career uh. We agree on overwhelming majority of issues of affordability issues of poverty uh the issues of fiscal discipline, no one was a better voice for that on this campaign trail uh that you don't need. It I've said it before to be profitable that, to be Progressive uh just It's been a Progressive, all his life but he's not been profit. Someone that believes in balancing a budget police, uh in that has a foundational disciplined to which everything else is built and I want his supporters to know that this johnny what's up to know that that I appreciate that that's the spirit to which I want to endeavor to govern as well and I think Democrats have the remarkable opportunity to build on that legacy and if the monster that has been left by governor Brown as well And so I just want to compliment all of those here for their support of John extend. My appreciation for John support of this campaign for governor and just know that I need him done. I need you and the bartender and selection you're, not getting away with just doing this. I need you at my work in the community, will be here uh yeah there's, one thing about he's ubiquitous uh and I was, I used to show the places I said, but they said well, you know you need to come up and I said what I've been here in the last seven years straight. They said I'm not like John John we've been here for 15 years straight And he's coming again next week, so he's raised the bar and uh. It is truly you are about bottom up not top down and you are about community and so I just wanted to express the recognition of that also appreciation and let you know that we're gonna need to build the bottom of grass roots campaign, to get back out and I wanna be there with you as we do, that and more overly or over closing uh. If we're successful uh we can't let you leave Military Park because we're gonna need to keep the post as well, you just know, two months and you've been there for too long. You have too much to offer to watch the kids and so if I can express that's obviously before whatever it is, you do in next, we just check it so that I can make sure and I can you know, have a last chance so I'm a right of first refusal as they say in politics, let's see if I could focus your back in my privilege getting over the lot uh to see if we can continue to work together for many, many years to come Uh because I'm selfish and I think the state meet you yeah Hey any question so yes, what we haven't done. It will be executive or about it little, particularly for those 25 hundreds children, uh disconnected displaced. Now distributed all across the rest of this country. Uh we have a lot of work to do is californians to try to lead and how to never or over to make sure we do our part of the place of those children that are here to this community and all across the state of California uh make sure that we connect with Families to make sure we're providing resources, uh leadership is regarding this moment using the bully pulpit for more than 40 um the state. But also the more this is uh to lead a new one conversation on immigration policy to push back against trump and trump is not and everything else administration represents at this moment um. It is a disgrace. What's happens important to our values uh this state, as you can see, the responsibility you Speaking of sexy look, I did you know I have a lot of different opinions of rights to uh. They appreciate our National guard. The border, uh. I have different um you know I've got one of you, it's more along the lines number of the other governors sort of when use any state resources, their respective States uh in any way of collaborating and coordinating uh with what's going on for the policy of zero tolerance um uh oh, someone just got For kids uh very first seamless would be anyone with children for over uh it's. It's in the front of the guy's the state so I think the attorney generals in the media uh conversations with the administration, I'll be presenting more specific and descriptive ideas in very short order. Let them uh and that's those ideas just to start that very supportive immigration, so right now now I can do more Can do a lot more and uh you know there's one governor, I'm not uh lieutenant governor. I think we can do more and I would like to see us to look at the campaign. You know obviously we're just down alameda St couple of days ago and rolling off with a Democratic support. If you feel additional pressure because the factors that ballot to help specifically fresher candidates, their body for the seventeenth and you have to mean erica time for this. I just think And John look John has been a party stalwart all these career uh and no one who works hard building. This party and honest and don't think it's a gross exaggeration to say there are two people any that I've done more to help support the Democratic party in the state that John and he like all of us, recognize the power of community um I've said this before, but there were two Democrats in this top to going at each other, spending a hundred Plus million dollars to tackling one another, uh, we wouldn't miss the opportunity to do we're going now, which is building unity, police of message. Uh. It start investing resources into this party. Yes, as you suggest down ballot, uh and it's for the school board races. Sport city Council races for supervisor races barrel races the Assembly Senate statewide constitutional and obviously this commercial to let to take on human work anywhere else You are brothers, a Union state, uniontown, a reunion got take like so okay, that yeah we did 10 debates, something we missed at 36 town Hall sweet made ourselves available up and down the state. Uh looking forward to having more debates, imagine we'll be announcing some of those sodas chocolate that one needs to be yeah yeah well, I was former mayor of San Francisco and one of the day that went by was a focus on the desires and aspirations of the Community I would never been elected mayor, uh never been a County supervisor of great respect and admiration. Uh for the Asian community and long strong advocate and supporter. We miss some of these debates that's your John missed any fitness, one uh Antonio man is not he made everyday us. Some of these sweet babies. We can make some up. We have a previous engagement and a question and regards to workforce development for all the Right here in the workforce development right now, we cannot be satisfied. Employment me, what do you think you need to ask up help us that would be able to satisfy them with a Dream. Will be available. Should you, when you, but we played out a very specific strategies that relates to workforce development, including a novel idea for any individual or any accounts uh. What allow people to upgrade their skills, partnership with the College system uh and tax credits Cost associate how about getting down to degrees getting presidential uh we're looking to do what we call transformation maps of every industry in the state. Looking three to five years out, where the economy is going and develop curriculum around that from the workforce perspective. In order to stress at work force needs so we laid that out detail uh and we look for real estate in the position to actually the challenges in our community as much of that is, if not for salvation, sorry, we need some of that in In our community and we also in our church today, so there we have it before myself, together and be prepared for motion. 30 that's made adorable into your glory so I have with you whatever things to the lands. I'm a former mayor over County fair everything from eight through the lens of cultural competency uh bottom up not top down one size doesn't fit off our economic plan is actually 14 workforce development plans recognizing the need characteristics of each region of the state of That's the entire blanks friends to which we you and you look and I'll get to that.
