When we got there, the paisteles(sp) de nata had just come out of the oven, so we had to have some while we waited for our sandwiches. So good! I had a deliciou...s sandwich with cheese, ham and banana. If I had read the menu thoroughly, I would have seen that there was a gluten free bread option. Frankly, I thought the sandwich (and paisteles ) was worth the consequences of eating wheat. I mean it. My only critique would be the music. It was loud and kind of irritating. My husband reminded me we were in the hipster mission district (much different from the Mission I knew as a child) hence the music. I thought some nice Portuguese Fado or mellow Brazilian music would be really nice and help me re-live my days in beautiful Lisboa. عرض المزيد

This place was horrible I asked for a galão and the guy had no clue what I was talking about. Asked if they had queijo são Jorge and again had no clue what I w...as talking about. Not ganna go back I would rather starve all day to go back to San Jose and eat and drink at a real portuguese cafe than go to this place. عرض المزيد

Hey! I don't know how many of you know about Portuguese cafes but; they are amazing! I've been to Portugal 3 times and each time I go there, I am obsessed with ...their coffee! Great service. The coffee and pastries were delicious! Even though it was busy, the owner was very friendly and took time to tell my friends and I about her St Jorge roots and asked us about ours as well. I will be returning!

You need to add more Portuguese plates.
You need to sell bifanas at your Cafe S. Jorge
offer a plate of bacalhau and baked potatoes also kale soup!!! etc.

Loved our visit here in SF all the way from NY. Great coffee and breakfast! It's certainly the epitome of the Silicon Valley coffee shop... surrounded by hipsters wearing horned rimmed glasses nose down in their MacBooks. :-)

Delicious coffee, drinks, and (allergy-friendly) food in a lovely, well-lit space. I probably come in at least 3 times a week. Plus they let me host a monthly open mic here.
