So it seems, "Evil Dead" gets less evil everyday, at least in Germany. After the all-around ban was lifted some weeks ago, the (at least among German horror buffs) notorious Sam Raimi classic is now also taken off the so-called "Index" (some sort of "minor ban", a milder form of censorship), making way for an official re-rating and, thus, for a legal and official release.
Apparently, German courts just de-banned Sam Raimi's cult classic "Evil Dead".

Now that's some fab news.
In a certain way, this very day sees horror history in the making, at least in Germany. For the first time ever, Tobe Hooper's Chain Saw classic will be aired on German public television. Famous for being banned and 'verboten' by some court, it wasn't until 2011 when courageous DVD label Turbine Medien faced the odds and started a great campaign to get this masterpiece officially "un-banned" - and successfully so! So, once obviously considered a threat for the well-being of a whole nation, we will see if Germany will be lying in ruins when tomorrow comes
