Weather was crazy Tuesday afternoon! Rick Roth and brother Todd with friend Rick were welcomed to wind, rain, thunderstorms, and cohos! Fishing was good weather, not so much! Cohos bit well but every time fronts came thru the wind would switch and the bite was on hold till the fronts passed! Mag Lips, Thin fish, and red Dodgers with Raptures new Shrimp slider flies were the ticket! As we were pulling lines, a triple finished their limit and a bonus 2 for the Capt!
Coho action remains good in the southern basin! Fishing the beach out to 25 fow! Orange J11’s, Thin fins, Stinger Steelie stomper, Red Dodgers and Viper Jr Rapture flies are top baits! Church Tackle TX-12’s do a great job getting your baits out for an Awesome spread! March and April is a great time to catch limits of tasty Coho’s! Remember! There ain’t no Ho like a Coho!
What a great time fishing with these Great! Michigan Fans! Trent (9) Mom Jennifer Tucholski! Fresh Hens released to fight again! This is how Michigan fans tailgate to get ready for Michigan’s Final Four advances! Mag Lips 3.5 Gold and Orange, antifreeze! Thanks Tom Orosz! You have to love Trent’s proud moment of his 1st St. Joe River Steel!
The Joe was just a little bit high and dirty this weekend yet! So Elmer Rudlaff and I hit the big lake instead! Mag Lip 3.5 on the long lines were the hot set up! 6 of our 11 fish came on the 3.5’s Met. Perch! Water was less than 1’ visibility!
As The St. Joe is still blown out! I will be doing Seminar’s with Jim Feshin Lafortune at Jalensky’s seminars going on this weekend! Looking forward meeting all of you in WI. Thanks to all of our sponsors Church Tackle, Michigan Stinger, Rapture Trolling Flies, Okuma, Yakima! We have some great Donations to be given away! Thanks for your support!
Was decent weather to be on THE JOE again this weekend! Beautiful sunshine and no wind! The only negative was some inconsiderate fisherman that were running up and down the river breaking free the shelf ice! This made it Unfishable in most down stream locations! We did manage 2 nice Steelies on Yakima MagLips 3.5's! It was great to be on the water with SW. Mich legend Wild Bill and friend Jimmy D. Young! Lots of story's of country music singers! And planning a up coming event! (Stay tuned) Oh and Jimmy with the curse of the banana!
Finally got back on the Joe! After that brief Spring warm up the water was 33deg and slight tint! Tough fishing, 2-3 all bites on 3.5 mag lips! The highlight was this 13# buck! The scenery was awesome and the wildlife was out enjoying the 18 deg day! Looks like another warm up this weekend! If you would like to get out Mesg me!
