Next Thursday the National Gallery of Canada will be hosting a talk on Psychology and Creativity.

The speaker, who is mostly known for his views concerning trans identities, will also be giving a second talk at the Ottawa Public Library hosted by a group called Act! For Canada: a right wing, anti-immigration, anti-muslim, nationalist group. http://www.actforcanada.ca

These are the politics of the individual (and his associates) that the National Gallery has chosen to address the topic of CREATIVITY.

Based on the violent repercussions resulting from this individual’s actions last fall in Toronto the following threat assessment was conducted:

As someone who believes that basic human rights should be granted to everyone, it is disconcerting that a federally funded public cultural institution would hire someone who actively campaigns against equality. As an artist I find it troubling that this is the individual being selected as the authority on something that is the core of our professions, our identities and our lives: CREATIVITY
