Pre-University Arts & Humanities
If you are looking for a platform to progress to a wide range of careers in the General Arts, Humanities, Psychology or Sociology, then this course is for you. The course provides a foundation for progression to Higher Education study in general Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. You’ll get a real taste for what’s required at third level before committing to a four-year degree, and it an ideal first step for school-leaver and mature students returning to education.
Our course introduces a wide-range of humanities subjects and provides a broad foundation in writing skills and research studies which will really help prepare for further study. You’ll find that extensive options for progression, and many potential career pathways.
New Course for Sept 2018 - Applied Sciences
The science industries are one of Ireland’s fastest growing sectors, with job opportunities out-stripping supply of graduates. Our Applied Sciences course is an ideal foundation, providing a platform to a wide range of careers including Bio-pharma, agri-science, chemistry and microbiology. You can progress to Higher Education and to many careers both in commercial and research science.
You’ll study a wide range of science subjects, and applied laboratory skills, helping you gain practical insights as well as firm theoretical knowledge. For those wishing to progress to Higher Education, this foundation will give you the edge when you progress to degree level study.
The Music students will be performing a Back to the 80's night at Tullys Bar in Carlow on Thursday night - 8 March. Time to dust off those legwarmers and custom denim jackets. Be there for 8pm.
Professional Cookery - New Course for Sept 2018
Are you passionate about food and the culinary arts? If you are looking for a career in the food industry, then our Professional Cookery programme will provide all the right ingredients.
You will learn detailed skills and competencies in culinary techniques and food preparation through practical classes in our professional kitchen. The course also explores restaurant service, food science and nutrition....
You will build of portfolio of experience and skills that will be enhanced through work placement in professional food service environments.

New Course for Sept 2018 - Performing Arts.
If you aspire to a career in acting, dance or musical theatre, this course will help you realise your talent and ambitions. We will help you develop a real technical and artistic grounding through expert practical tuition.
You will develop performance skills including acting, movement, dance, voice and musical theatre, and will have opportunities to perform in productions....
The course explores the Performing Arts Business and career preparation. You will be supported to progress to Performing Arts and Drama college through focused audition preparation.

The new date for the CIFET Graduation is Wednesday 29th November in the Woodford-Dolmen hotel in Carlow. New invitations to students that completed their full award will be sent to confirm their intention to attend.
