Terrific time this evening at Action Together's Rock the County petition signing event at Ole Tyme Charley's Restaurant & Pub in Plains. Great seeing all the Luzerne County Dems come out tonight!
Had a great time visiting with friends last night at Happy Pizza in Plymouth. Sitting from (l-r) Diane Hollock and Michelle Stashak and standing (l-r) Bernard Kullarick, State Rep. Jerry Mullery, and Councilmen Clyde Peters and Bill Dixon
We must protect our American national sovereignty.
We have rescheduled the Re-Election Campaign Kick-Off and Petition Event. Please join me March 2nd to sign my petition and put me on the primary election ballot for May 15th.
Some interesting developments are going on that may or may not affect our campaign!
I enjoyed attending the Hunting Heritage Banquet over the weekend at the Greenwood Fire Hall in Moosic. It was good to catch up with Ray Smith, District Field Supervisor-NE of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Communities up and down the Atlantic and Pacific coasts depend on clean and open waters. Fishermen who provide for their families. Businesses that serve tourists. Parents who cherish memories of their children jumping in the waves.
We just learned that the administration wants to enact the single biggest expansion of offshore oil drilling in our nation's history.
This would be devastating to coastal communities and the hardworking men and women who rely on clean oceans and be...aches. And it would be catastrophic for marine wildlife and coastal habitats.
Sign the petition today: tell the Department of the Interior to say NO to offshore oil drilling.
You're going to hear a lot of talk from Republicans in Congress. Their leaders are trying to blame Democrats for shutting down the government, despite Republicans controlling both Congress and the White House.
If Republicans in Congress can't keep our government running, it's entirely their fault.
Critical services, like our community health centers, need stable, secure funding to ensure that those in need are served....
Constantly funding the government with these band-aid measures hurts our whole country. Even the Secretary of Defense, General Mattis, has complained bitterly about Congress's failure to enact long-term budgets, saying, "no enemy in the field has done more to harm the readiness of the U.S. military."
Here's an idea: let's end the political posturing, and actually work together in good faith to get the government re-opened and doing the people's business.
I'm ready to talk. I'm willing to have an honest, earnest negotiation.
Under Scott Pruitt, the EPA has become a favorite stop for fossil fuel industry lobbyists and executives to make their case for exploiting our environment. They've had more than 100 meetings with Pruitt because they see him as an ally who believes that climate change isn’t real. They see Pruitt as someone willing to sell out our environment, our public health, and our prestige lands to the highest bidders.
Do you know who isn’t part of that conversation? Scientists. Public health professionals. Environmental advocates. You can count on your hands the number of meetings they've had with Pruitt.
Our country deserves an EPA that isn’t beholden to the industries it’s designed to regulate. Sign the petition and tell Scott Pruitt to meet with experts other than fossil fuel industry insiders.
Today, we honor the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Even in the inevitable moments when all seems hopeless, men know that without hope they cannot really live, and in agonizing desperation they cry for the bread of hope."

Good fun this morning at the Plains American Legion Post 558 pancake breakfast, with my friends (l-r) Scott Foster, Post Commander Joe Urban and 2nd Vice Commander Bob Terpak. Thanks, guys, for all you do!
The limited exemption for small delivery vehicles supporting the small businesses surrounding Route 209 had expired. I was happy to help spearhead the common sense effort to help these small businesses keep going, while preserving the prohibition on major truck traffic going through the park.
