Whoa Welcome everyone, um we're only for the week 11 to 11 days okay. Thank you for the most important election which may be the most important. I think, will be the most important election of my life here and so we have a lot to talk about and go and we were honored to have three members the second of two nights distinguished members of Congress and and try casten's From the sixth district with us, two point nine. Why not. Almost there alright um senator dick turpin I'm Kelly Fantastic We have a protocol no, I'm like first alright well, is this on kinda sorta. Yes. Thank you. Didn't joining the Mike and your yes okay. Yes. Well, thank you all so much for coming. We said this is 11 days. It is humbled doesn't begin to describe this feeling of sort of going from from an idea yellow real okay Let's For you, based out of the trouble of the best The expect from another life, um amen, thank you. Thank you. Um thank you all for gonna start to say that it is the we're 11 days out and it is just awesome and humbling and inspiring that you know to go from thinking. You know, whatever had been 16 years, one of the busiest seven years in the science has never feeling political and feeling like in this moment. I gotta stand up and do something and And not you know, like any entrepreneurial event, you don't know if this is you know this is a good idea. You just have this idea in the back of your head that it's worth doing and then all of the sudden being here 11 days out and seeing thousands of people canvassing you know, dozens if not twenties and people running for office for the first time, hundreds going down to the state level alone more ailment. You know other people running for the first time and it's just as amazing reassurance that, as much as what's going on at the lighthouse is horribly depressing and frightening, as much as what's going on in the Congress is horribly depressing and Friday in spite of the best efforts of hope Congresswoman Kelly and senator durbin and many others who are fighting the good fight for the majority, the fact is that the overwhelming majority of these people people in this district and I think in this country really good people and they're good people to share our values and don't don't wanna be the kind of country that we've become over the last two years and it basically acknowledge that this arc of history will bend towards Justice, provided enough of us jump up and grab it and bend it back down and Now be at a point 11 days out where the and hopefully nothing is guaranteed. You know in the fact that we're two point seven means that there's opponent says Richard points up and that's all it means um, but but to get to this point is not. It's because of what all of you all have done um North recognize a lot of your faces have been canvassing and phone banking and contributing and all the other things and it's just awesome and inspiring so thank you for all you've done I hope you have, as much or less sleep as I have uh cuz. It ain't over yet and if you, if you've been watching the New York times called it, they've been doing in the last couple of days is the deadline is what the headline is. But to understand where the races at scroll down to the bottom of that page because down the bottom, it says, among people who say they have absolutely definitely going to vote in this election and winning by 11 whoa Get worse along people who consistently voted in every midterm on down six and the people who say they absolutely don't plan on voting. I love my 49 point. nine Use it say, like let me know that that's the that's the story right. The um the, as uh as reg and any members here. I'm forgetting what's registered last name value. The guy who's the genius from no registration waiver yeah, as he's find them saying and then people get elected when good people know about right and so so the challenge now is to go out and keep pushing keep knocking on doors and get across the finish line and do it not because the goal is for me to win and do it not because the goal is to flip the House doing it because it goes to flip all the houses do it because You, wanna win by a big enough margin that host parties recognize the value of having another party would but values one right With that in mind, I am simply I'm simply the person who is doing this for the first time and then there's a lot of wisdom around me. So let me headed off the Congress in the Kelly. If you can get one but I don't know about the next 11 days Thank you, Sean. It's 11 days ago, very slow the first of all, I want you guys to give yourselves a round of applause for the For your efforts and your support, we cannot do it without you that is just the bottom line. Uh Sean knows I've been all over the place trying to help uh all over the United States trying to put the House blue. But I always have to come home to make sure that Illinois proved itself again that we are a blue state, not a purple state, not a Red state, not not a half up half down stay put truly a blue state, so we have to vote up and down the ballot box and again we can't do it without you we're asking you not only to vote but to bring five to 10 people to the point with you call your family and friends and selfishly for us as we're on the federal level. We want to call your family and friends that live all over the United States because if we want something different, we have to send different people to come We have to send different people to the Senate and the Senate. We have to keep the people there There was once he wants to be there. You want some friends with them and that's what I needed in Sean. We need people that do have values that do really care. There are about the people, not about corporations and um things like that for people that are gonna be defensive. We need people that are going to keep us together I've often tell people I know it's hard to believe what you see on Tv. We do get along better than what you think, but it's the leadership that's the problem. It's a leadership that devices this is the leadership that doesn't bring our bills to the floor, whether they're Democratic belzer, bipartisan bills that they don't like the bills they don't bring. It to the floor. They bring. Those to the four we've, not had a hearing on that. We can put amendments on so again if we want something different, we have to send different people to Congress and we think that's. Why we're here that Sean is the man to serve in Congress. We think he's the one that's going to make a difference, not only in the sixth district that only Illinois but when he votes across the United States and he has what it takes the values to compare Fashion the caring to truly make the difference and truly be a good partner and a good ally. So thank you for everything you're doing. We still need to do more. Everything you're doing and as they heard me say it's about three things number one is turn out number two is turnout number three is and now it's my absolute honor to introduce um my friend all about senators. Someone who he deserves around of applause for the great job he did in the kavanaugh here Dad maybe number two in the Senate but he's number one in our hearts and I think I just earned yourself that working and we're gonna do uh. Thank your on and it's great for show uh we've been campaigning together. We I'll think about weekends. This way when I was just elected to the United States Senate, you have a choice to make on the fourth of July where you go and I would, for many years there, I always do the morning wheaton parade porch Why we do, I have to tell you you can guess the being the Democratic some of you walking the Street. Illinois and there are some very nice people Her summer knots over so it was kind of wake-up call and so I wouldn't go in the afternoon to do the evanston fourth of July and my wife said. Why you keep going back to evanston every fourth of July and I said well after we Just great to have a parade where mothers with babies in arms will say please take my first born child Down the Street night but I love you for being here and its message clear that we witness the changing my second memory. Awi is one was kind of a big surprise than any of you attend the meeting of weight in College with bottle and goes back two years final announced. He was coming to Illinois to go to College and then he said he was going to wait come you so what's listening to that. It was all about the Aids epidemic in Africa and he came to Brought some people from Africa, Dr Jim Kim it's at the world Bank, uh and it's a heck of a big turn out. I think the whole student body was there. It was a great night and still remember many of the things that were said, but what happen on the weekend campus was interesting because they really start and organizations in to be more globally interested in the challenges of our time and those Organization still mask to this day, so I hope you know sprays to turn that uh in most conservative one of the most conservative colleges in the town that have been largely Republican. You know there's, an awakening of conscience and an awakening of responsibility and I think that's what the salon But if you look back on most of us remember graphically room birth waking up the morning after the election of President trump and I thought to myself when I went to bed at two 30 when I get up at six it's gonna be okay. Well, it wasn't okay and we know we've been through set in stone all the conversations we've had and all of the stress and all the tension and all the anger that's been involved in watching what's happening to our country and what's happening in Washington uh and my wife Has a group that wants with her in the morning and they come in here going as soon as they arrive uh about the latest thing that they've heard they've gotta stick around to watch morning. Joe knows that they gotta turn on Fox and cussed a few minutes and I can't go to sleep at night only hear rachel's voice So I finally said to him stop us it's not. This stop all the stress and all the tension and all the energy focus on this focus on what you can do in the constitution. You know what you can do. You can like people to change like people change. What's going on Washington elect a Democratic House of representatives for example, so what we did in our office since uh. We don't have a contest for the Senate and thank you for sending to me that is my colleagues in the United States That we need to do what I need to do identify at least four of the seven Republican congressional districts and make sure make certain that we have a credible candidate for Congress so that things start moving our way, we can win these seats. I've seen it happen historically and I am a benefit from 19 eighty two and I thought we've got to make sure this district that Sean is now running again had an embarrassment of riches when it came to the primary. There were so many talented people in that primer it really was refreshing Think, as he mention all of these people, like himself, stepping forward saying I'm gonna do this he emerges the winner is quite a tribute to his campaign and the message of the Ryan berry enjoy drinks all across the state. We found every district. They said we wish everyone, but we're gonna help whoever didn't win win. This thing in November and that's what this election is about and we need it now more than ever when you watch this president's rallies, you understand what he is trying to do is trying to fire up his political base with fear, with hate and he does it every single day to think that he would be there stand up and accuse Democrats of mob rule when the Democrats will receive pipe bombs in the mail you know for goodness sakes when he's encouraging those who chant lock her up whether it's Hillary Clinton or dianne feinstein when he's applauding the Republican congresswoman Montana, who body slammed the reporter and he say word engaged to my rule, Democrat for goodness sakes. The course of his language from the campaign through the presidency. Unfortunately, is unleashing some emotions and some strength that we don't wanna see in this country on either side. So I had to say and I think we all agree all of the candidates on both political parties should be careful. What they say, starting with the President, but maddie and exclusively we all the Careful on what we say, because if we are not respectful of one another and we're not civil with one another, then who wants this job. So it's all said and done. That's what it comes down to what we need to do is to win the right way and the right way to win. You know because most of your pros, I see some of the room, like him, have been involve in this a long time. You know that we've got to make sure we get the voters out this year is gonna be a wealth of opportunities. People that we didn't expect before uh you can get involved we're now on our side. Many Republicans are now on our side as they watch with the trump party looks like it's, not the party it's not what they're comfortable with and we've got a Also make I think the careful and take care when it comes to the emotions of the moment As I go around the state people come up to me. What we say we're gonna be able to write that concerned about this nation, what's going on when I get to talk and talk about what we went through with Fred kavanaugh and when Dr Ford appeared and talk about the whole issue, sexual violence and harassment it's not uncommon for me to see several women in the audience with tears going down her cheeks they're sending emails and stories and letters about them at seven Something that happened to them when they were 14 and 15 years old. That they've been carrying with them ever since it's also the city Council ultimate yesterday and lunch with no Park is a Muslim American and he said you know what we're going through wondering what he's going to do to us next it's rosary College now it's the American University in River forest. Why sit down with four oh five student system in young women and two of them interiors saying to me why we even going to school he's just gonna deport us that's the emotion. Those out and that's what we have to Remember, as we go through this, I love great victory nights on campaign's, but I love even more the swearing in ceremony when we take back a majority of the us House wound care Craft majority of the House, pain's it means that this President has to reckoned with uh group things gonna be watching the words to the extreme and then he starts asking for things of the way beyond what we wanna see. America. I pray it will take a little miracle for us to take majority in the Senate because you can see what they're doing to the courts we've been in recess in the last two weeks the Senate, judiciary Committee has been meeting without any Democrats approving judges sending them to the floor calendar in the United States that has never been done. Never been done before, but they are just duty bound to fill these carts with men and women who don't Percent the mainstream of American political thinking and you know why they're there and you're sitting on your day so this is a critical election. Wheaton is a critical time and it critically important congressional district to get robin Kelly here shows you how, just how important this right here I'm making it all she's all over the United States, Joe donnelly, over India sets, can you cross the border, come on Magic upon our setting the border and she's been campaigning all around tonight on catching the five o'clock plane to reno nevada there's, a moment jacky rosen yes Don't let the Monday morning indiana to see if there's any further left, if you haven't seen and then up to wisconsin for 20 bolin Over the weekend, I know pennsylvania's I don't know what else is hot but it's gonna be moving around. Basically letting everyone know that we're all in this together, every single one of us we're bound together with common purpose to take advantage of the constitution in a meaningful civilized way to win an election for the values that we share and don't think we're in the minority when it comes to those values majority of American share our value sure he's got 40 percent of the phone one over a cliff but 60 percent of American people believe, as we do in the basic values of This country and that's why we got a win on November six thanks. Everybody for looking to win Thank you, uh thank you all for coming uh on behalf of Sean and there's. Some other candidates and room tomorrow I'm some Hi sweetie hi wait um I'm laura and I'm running for Illinois state Senate for district 21 the West side of wheaton is in my district and I know some of you have already voted for me some of you have got signs in your Come on Sean.
