MEET OUR MEMBERS: This is Fleet Maintenance member, W. Tennant. He started working with our agency in January 1998 as a Building Maintenance employee working on the new jail construction. Once the jail was completed his passion for automotive engineering was discovered and he was transferred to Fleet Maintenance as a mechanic working on our vehicles.

During Mr. Tennant’s time in Fleet Maintenance he has not only taken care of sheriff’s office members and their vehicles, but h...e’s also performed several other duties, to include holding the position of acting Fleet Manager.

Mr. Tennant also performs other jobs when needed, such as welding tasks on special projects, most recently building our pit maneuver cars for training. He also completed the hardtop roof on our agencies hurricane preparation vehicle in order to better prepare us for the upcoming hurricane season. There is no job that he has not been able to successfully handle.

For all of this, we want to say thank you. Mr. Tennant is certainly one of our employees who “puts the rubber on the road” as his co-workers, friends and family say. #CCSOFL

MEET OUR MEMBERS: This is Detective K. Maertz who works in our Special Victims Section. Detective Maertz started with our agency as a civilian, working with sexual offenders and predators to ensure that they were properly registered and abiding by all requirements of Florida State Statutes. Her passion for the job lead her to go through the Police Academy to get hired as a sworn officer.

She relentlessly worked the streets of our community as a patrol officer, then in Operati...ons Safe Streets, before getting transferred to investigations. A short time in property crimes led her to the Special Victims Section where she was able to start working in some of the most delicate cases our agency deals with.

To say that Detective Maertz is passionate about her position would be an understatement. She does an exceptional job and we are proud of her hard work. #CCSOFL
