I’m a bit of a crazy person when it comes to getting my daily dose of greens. My first meal or snack of the day is always a dense green smoothie. Because it’s blended, it’s easy on the digestive system and gives you a boost of energy, nutrients, protein, vitamins and minerals right off the bat!
I’m not going to lie, it’s no peanut butter banana tasting smoothie, but I feel amazing drinking it knowing the benefits it’s supplying to my body.
This weeks recipe consists of pars...ley and cilantro which are major detoxifying herbs. These are crucial to staying sick-free this season. The vitamin C from the orange also supports a healthy immune system and takes off the bite from the herbs.

Recipe:
-1/2 orange peeled
-Large handful of cilantro
-Large handful of parsley
-1 cube of frozen wheatgrass
-Splash of almond milk & water

Immune Booster Shot
As the weather stars to get colder and colder it seems like sniffles and sneezing become apart of our regular routine. Give your immune system a boost with this easy to make shot and throw your Kleenex in the air like dolla bills.
Recipe:
(Make a batch to ensure you get your shot each day. Lasts up to 3 days in the fridge)
-1 1/2” piece of ginger...
- 1 lemon peeled
-3 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
-1/2 tsp turmeric
-Large dash of cayenne
-1 orange peeled
-Option to add 1 tsp of organic honey local to your area (when you buy local honey, it can help support allergy symptoms)
-Splash of water
Directions: Blend all ingredients for 1 minute. Strain through a sieve or cheese cloth into a jar with a lid. Pull out as needed
Turn this shot into a tasty tea by adding hot water.

Surrender. I used to think this word resembled weakness. Giving up. But today I had a revelation while spinning my legs off in this mornings workout. What about surrendering to all the amazing things you strive to do but hold back when second guess yourself. We all have goals, missions, ambitions of things we want to achieve so why not surrender to those dreams. Let yourself go from the restrictions society or whoever makes you believe exist. Tell the doubting voice in your head to take a back seat and surrender to the path and process of your vision.

Ok, we should be just about done all those Thanksgiving leftovers by now. After all those heavy meals and a major sodium overload, it's a great time to give our digestive systems a break. Opt for light vegetable soups filled with nutrient dense ingredients and spices like cilantro, ginger, parsley and basil. Make a huge batch that will see you through the rest of your busy week.

Anyone indulge a little more then expected this weekend? Don't dwell on it! Get back to your routine. Always focusing on one day at a time.

After some very much needed down time with the fam and this guy, I am excited to get back to my routine. It's so important to take a little down time once in a while so you bounce back driven, motivated and well rested.

Enjoy thanksgiving. Avoid the setbacks.
1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Most thanksgiving dishes are high in salt. Drinking lots of water 20-30 minutes before and after your meals will avoid bloating and water retention.
2. Forgo the appetizers. Most dinners are very calorie dense. No need for the pre game eats on this one.
3. Try to begin your meal with a light salad or raw veggies. This will supply you with an extra boost of digestive enzymes to help breakdo...wn your main event!
4. Supplement with digestive enzymes 30 minutes before dinner. Our body tends to produce less digestive enzymes towards the end of the day. Popping a couple digestive enzymes before can differ you from feeling like the Michelin man.
5. Eat slowly! Enjoy each bite and give your body time to digest. It takes about 20 minutes for your body to register that it’s full.
6. Forgo seconds. Overeating puts stress on your body, makes you feel lethargic and in the long run, can cause weight gain. The couple extra bites aren’t worth it. Pack it up for leftovers instead. Learn to become satiated with your first serving so your left feeling present, energized and can enjoy the company of your family and guests.
7. End your evening with a cup of dandelion root tea. Dandelion root tea is a diuretic further assisting with water retention. It also is a liver supporter! Let’s be real, you can’t have thanksgiving without sipping some quality vino right?
8. Get at least 20 minutes of activity in! Go for a long walk with your family, do my 20 minute workout in your home, go for a run.... whatever it is, get that body moving!

I hope everyone has an amazing (Canadian) thanksgiving! Give thanks, share love and create memories with your loved ones.

Funny how the same topic will be brought up by my clients each week. Goes to show that even though we are all on our own journeys, we are all having similar experiences.
This weeks topic: Every one of my clients has told me how grateful they’ve been feeling. They’re learning not to sweat the little stuff because at the end of the day we have so much for be thankful for.
When something frustrating comes up, or something doesn’t go your way, just say ‘so what’ and life goes on....
With everything happening in the world these days, it’s important that we’re spreading love and positivity and not letting the little things bring us down. Spend that energy sending love to those that need it. Smile at strangers. Hold the door for someone. Assist someone with their bags. Take 2 minutes to go out of your way to spread the good vibes and be grateful for this amazing life we’ve been given.
