Ordered the lantern Pho and tapioca for dessert. I loved how the soups flavour changed depending on what I added. The tapioca had different flavours as well dep...ending on what side you ate from or if you chose to mix it and I really enjoyed experiencing more than one taste in both items. I did expect it to be a restaurant but it's more like a canteen where you order, pay, sit where you like and self serve for utensils etc. عرض المزيد

CHAU is a place for everyone�
Here's my review of Chau's dishes I've tried so far:

Golden Temple Soup �
Ever heard of an expression "your body is a temple"? This creamy curry flavoured bowl of veggies and goodness will nourish your shrine�
Your choice of noodles, rice or quinoa


Candlelit Lantern Pho Soup �
Are you a fan of Vietnamese dish called Pho? Are you vegetarian???
Veggie broth, organic tofu pieces with tons of veggies and a good amount of spices. Mm Mm MMM
May I suggest, getting Pho with yummy veggie spring rolls (NON LA ROLLS)
Psst: vegan fish sauce ���

And last,

COCONUT SHAKE!!! �
This amazing vegan smoothie shake tasted divine. Taking a first sip was like being on �cloud9�
My first thought was "Did this fantastic smoothie just descend from heaven just for me?" Well, It was definitely the best one I've had in a very long time
The shake came with strips of fresh coconut flesh �


Thank you Chau, for your friendly staff and incredibly tasty food �
I will be back trying the rest of your dishes.

I went out of my way today to hit Chauveggie, because of the fresh photo menu alone. The customer service lady asked if it was my first time and I replied "yes...". I asked for some recommendations and she gave me a few - The Golden Temple Soup, Non LA Rolls & the Coconut Milkshake.

I'm not sure if she is one of those small people who can eat their own body weight, but the amount of food that came was enough to have fed a small village. The feast appeared at my table -gigantor bowl of Golden Temple Soup, the rolls and a milky white glass of coconut shake. Seriously, big portions on the bowls. With sleek black chopsticks, I made my way through a bit of each; mindfully and daintily experiencing the blend of freshness and balance of flavors.

It was all soooo good that I asked the gal if they could open one where I live out in the valley. "I've never been all the way out there, that's a LONG way away". Yes it is missy. Yes, it is. ;)

Sitting at one of their community tables, I got to chatting with a couple across the table from me. It was their first time and we all agreed, that Chauveggie is one of, if not the top vegetarian restaurants in Van for all three of us (definitely for me).

So I took most of my food home with me. On the way home, waaaay back to the Valley, I ate the rest of the rolls. When I got home hours later, I opened up the leftover Golden Temple soup. I'll be explicit when I say, I left the chopsticks in the drawer and pulled out the big fork and happily CHOWED down on my leftovers. The only thing better than eating at Chauveggie, is eating Chauveggie at home where you can stuff your face unabashedly. Too bad for my husband and daughter, of whom I was intending to allow them to try...

HUGE portions. Healthy plant-based & Asian-inspired cuisine. For Vegan, vegetarian & omni alike. The flavour of these dishes speak for themselves. You CAN make friends with salad ;)

The best spring rolls and veggie Vietnamese soup I have had in Vancouver. My boyfriend and I have been many times since we discovered it a month ago. Love love ...love.
